This place really should be better known as it is a very special place run by very kind, caring people. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Not hugely luxurious, but there is no need for luxury when you are surrounded by such beauty and quiet. There is everything you need. There are fantastic wild wilderness walks on the doorstep...

We decided to try this place for our business meeting and it was a very nice surprise. Surrounded by a lake and nature in autumn colours just next to the Russian border made the stay a bit out of the ordinary. Friendly and service-minded staff also made the stay nice. The rooms are not so big but wasn't a problem...

We arrived late in the evening, and were welcomed at the airport of their service van. Our driver was a great guy, really knowledgeable about the area. On the 10-minute drive to Solia we saw our first two reindeer! At Solia we were welcomed by the sweetest girl who quickly got us settled into our cabin. The cabin was spacious...

Arrived late, due to techical problems with connecting flight. Than my lugguage was lost at Kirkenes airport. Had to wait 2 hours to get my bag. Arrived just some time after 10pm. Reception was closed after 10 pm, but there was a number I could call. Just got an answeringmachine. But this gave a 2.nd number to call. After some...

An hotel strike in Norway meant we had to be relocated and fortunately we were placed here for our overnight accommodation in an exceptionally comfortable bed. The location was stunning overlooking a gently thawing lake bordered by beech trees. Our hosts were friendly and most helpful. As we hadn't eaten, they made some delicious soup on our arrival. Breakfast was...

A very enjoyable and memorable stay near to the Russian border. The cabin was clean, warm and comfortable, but fairly basic. We had great sleeps after walking and touring around the area, especially after the dog sledging at the nearby Snow Hotel. Unfortunately the owner of Sollia Gjestegard sold his dog teams about a year before our stay, so we...

We stayed in one of the rooms shown above. It was very simple inside and small. However it was fine for 3 of us. It was warm and dry and the shower worked fine with plenty of hot water. The owners were lovely people and very welcoming. There is nothing else there except the guesthouse but they provided lunch, breakfast...

Sollia is located about 20 klm from Kirkenes, right above a beautiful lake. To the pros: the staff was very helpful and talkative. Its transport service available and on time. The view from the breakfast room amazing. There was heating and hot water in our apartment all the time. The apartment kitchen was well supplied and I cooked some delicious...

Dear Pennoula! Thank you for your review. We like to get better and try to listen to our guests. We have upgraded our TV's and have 9 channels. But the size is still "small" since it shall fit in the room.

“There are some cabins with log burners and some with separate bedroom / sitting room. If you need separate rooms (like if your partner snores really badly) ask for the one with a separate bedroom. In winter BRING SPIKES for your shoes.”
