We're coming to the end of our week's stay at the Dom Pedro Golf Hotel. We've had a lovely stay and haven't much to fault at all. Hotel is in a lovely location and is about a 5 minute walk to both the beach and the marina. We have been on a bed and breakfast basis and the choice at breakfast has been vast - something to suit all tastes and the food and drink available is constantly being replenished. The staff at the hotel have been friendly and helpful - from reception staff, restaurant staff and housekeeping staff. I would recommend this hotel - Vilamoura has been a wonderful holiday for us.
The hotel was very nice. Staff very polite, professional and helpful. We did not go all inclusive so I cannot comment on the meals but breakfasts were top quality with a wide range of food for different tastes. Good pool and golf facilities. The only reason for a 4 star rating was that in our other room the air conditioning did not work properly. We should have reported it and it may have got fixed. Overall I can highly recommend this hotel.
great location, room ok, hotel clean. good pool/garden area, always plenty of sunbeds/shade. All inclusive poor, food same at lunch and dinner, always lukewarm, not much choice. eventually got a drink in the restaurant but rarely offered a re-fill. seemed like bar staff are happy to serve other guests before all inclusive. one day a drink would be included and the next day it was not! ran out of baileys one night and had no alternative. wish we had only paid for B&B and not bothered with the AI, went out to eat at the marina most nights.
Firstly, hotel is set in a lovely location, a 2 min walk to the beach and a 5 min walk to the Marina. Room was basic but all that is needed on a sun holiday. However there were a number of issues. Our room was not ready to check in to until after 4pm - despite the fact it says on the website that check in is available from 2pm. We arrived at 2 30pm and so were left waiting for over an hour and a half. The first staff member told us we would be no longer than 30 mins but they did not both to come over to us (sitting down 20m from them) to advise the situation after 45 mins. We had to get up and walk to reception of 3 occasions to see what the delay was, finally, after over an hour and a half, someone came and offered us a cup of coffee. The only other notable negative was that the hotel does not appear to have any ties or links to a taxi company. When we were looking to go to the water park , we asked reception to organise a taxi for us as we do not speak Portuguese, however this idea did seem foreign to them and they were not able to help us with this problem.…
There is a lot that is good about this hotel. We stayed a week on all inclusive and got good value for what we paid. The hotel is in a great position between the beach and Marina. The room had a great view and the bed and bedding were extremely comfortable, as was the aircon. The food was pretty good for all inclusive and I found the bar service and range of drinks on the all inclusive package were good. On the negative side, the room walls are very thin and it only takes on half wit above you with stilettos and a big mouth to ruin a nights sleep. The others were the state of the grounds, which were not well cleaned and house keeping skimping on replacing water, tea and coffee. Overall though we had a good week but this is a hotel for golf bores and stag do’s, so don’t expect much peace.…
We have stayed at this hotel many times before and have just returned from another great stay. The hotel is very clean, the pool area is spacious and the hard working staff, friendly and courteous. I was unwell during the holiday and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. A couple of negative points though: 1. Check in time is officially 2pm but it’s actually more like 4pm. We arrived at 12.30 but didn’t get into our room until 3.30 and that was only after the third time of asking. By that time the reception was full of travel weary guests all desperate to get in into their rooms and start their holiday. Luggage is brought separately approximately 20 minutes later 2. We have always enjoyed the quite atmosphere here with likeminded couples and young families. However on this trip we noticed several large groups of guests whose loud talking/singing, excessive drinking and boisterous behaviour changed the poolside mood somewhat. During the last 2 days the hotel also started to play loud pop music by the pool, which was unwelcome. Dom Pedro, please don’t turn this lovely hotel into something more suited to the Albufeira Strip.…
Just back from a 7 night stay in the Dom Pedro Vilamoura. My husband and I have stayed there many times before. Location and pool area are the best features. Rooms are clean but very dated. This year there seemed to be more large parties around which at times caused lots of noise around the pool area. We didn't think the staff were as attentive as previously. We waited 20mins on luggage to be delivered to room, rang reception, call was cut off, ended up collecting our own cases. Had asked for an early morning call on day of departure which never happened. Breakfast was OK, staff very keen to clear tables . Our juice was taken away before we actually drank it. Had just arrived at table and had gone to buffet for breakfast, on return juice and coffee had gone!
Clean and tidy rooms. Amazing reception. Good food, but could be more varied. Lots of green space and a very good pool. Spa worker very arrogant and unsympathetic, he didn't introduce the spa and didn't even ask if we needed help. The lady who did the massage was very attentive, even though she speaks little English, she was very friendly and welcoming and the massage was amazing. Beautiful interior space and wonderful jacuzzi. Good hotel to be with family and friends to relax. Wonderful view.
We have just returned from the dom pedro, the hotel and staff were lovely, the bedrooms are large and very clean, breakfast was fab, with lots of choice of fresh food, I would definitely recommend this hotel .
I had a fantastic time at the hotel. When we first arrived at the hotel having been taken to the wrong Dom Pedro we were greeted by lovely Laura on reception with a big smile and helped us with lots of questions. The hotel is smart, clean and the rooms are very good too. I will definitely be back and also try the Dom Pedro in Lisbon too. I always think the staff make a visit to a hotel good or bad and I found everyone great bit a special shout out to Laura and Tiago. I’ll see you again soon 😎
