We only spent 1 night here, to break up our journey from Evenes Airport to Reine, but it was a comfortable stay. On arrival in the dark snowy conditions, we decided to park in the main car park and walk to reception to get our keys. We were allocated a rorbu overlooking the town’s harbour and carried our bags in....

We visited this location for an evening drink during a visit to Svolvaer. Friendly barman and average Norwegian prices . Good atmosphere ,lovely open fire. Would be an even greater summer location for a visit and maybe a stay.

If you should stay in one hotel in Svolvaer, stay here. The red, really cosy fisherman's cabin was big, clean and so charming, with a view to the mountains and the sea. If you are lucky, maybe you see the northers light outside the windows. The location is really good, too - on a little island a two minutes walk...

We stayed in a cabin at the end of our winter-aurora trip. Sadly we arrived in a big storm and our activities were canceled, but the cabin was cosy and quite big. Sadly the restaurant was closed, which was surprisingly not announced anywhere. Nonetheless our stay was nice and the area is wonderful.

I had cabin 226A which had one of the best views of Svolvaer looking out on one of the big mountains and part of the port. It was lovely and peaceful. I think the cabins are all very similar: long living space with a sitting space at one end (3 seat sofa) and two armchairs. The room was cosy but...

We spent 4 nights here, wrapping up our trip to Norway with a quiet stay in one of their cabins. This lodging was clean, staff very helpful, and the setting can't be beat even in the rain! To move about the island a car is really needed but affordable options are available nearby. We would happily return!

Why? Because staying in normal hotel it is criminal while staying in Lofoten. You have to try to stay in Rorbu, houses that were used by fisherman. The ones here are renovated, nicely equipped, very comfortable and some would say luxury. Great location, nice view, fully equipped kitchen, so you can easily stay for few days. Each room has own...

We have stayed at 5 different Rorbus on our current trip in northern Norway, and this one was by far the nicest. Everything was right. The welcome and service at the reception, the location, the interior (like you could do it in your own cottage), the breakfast and also the price. I was there last 3 years ago, and i...

Lofoten accommodation very booked up at this time of year so we were lucky to get this. There was a double room, bathroom and lounge with very basic kitchenette - 2 hob rings, a microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Only one frying pan and one saucepan. Located in the very center of Svolvær you are close to everything - both the sea, the restaurants and if you want to hiking in the mountains. Like a hotel, good beds, nice terrace and a good Norwegian breakfast.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Anker Brygge consists of highly comfortable rorbu suites spectacularly situated on its own little island named Lamholmen in the middle of Svolvær harbour. The resort is connected to Svolvær city central with a bridge. Living at Anker Brygge you are within a 200 meters range from the Town Square, Hurtigruten and small shops and galleries. All suites are traditionally built and fully equipped for today`s standard – making your stay with us nice and comfortable. From all of our rooms/rorbuer you have an amazing view to the sea and mountains surrounding our world famous islands. On the outside quay of your cabin/rorbu you can enjoy your morning coffee or you might try to catch your own fish? At Anker Brygge we also offer a solid and traditional meal at our highly recommended Restaurant named “Kjøkkenet” . Lamholmen has been inhabitated since the early 1800`s. There were several fish-companies, fish treatment factories, a barrel factory and "rorbuer", barns and houses on the island. The fish products from Lamholmen was mainly exorted abroad to Italy, Spain, Portugal and Brazil. Today you can feel the atmosphere from the old days in all of our rooms. You still get the feeling of the era when life was rough and fishermen came to Lofoten by oars and sails in their small fishingboats from places all over this nations long coastline. ... more   less
