Ate here on a work trip and it was clear they were struggling. The waitress worked really hard to salvage things but the maitre de basically ran away when it all got difficult. We witnessed several courses being returned to the kitchen and he had conveniently vanished. When I complained about the cheese course, and no crackers to go with...

The hotel is well appointed with very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are spacious and services are agreeable. When venturing to the top floor restaurant I was astounded by what I came across. The decor and atmosphere are enviable of any five star hotel and the menu served (set menu as it was a budget business stay) was easily...

I go to Den Helder to do a small job every year and stay here. Over the eight years the hotel has been completely refurbished to a very high standard. The food is excellent, the wine god and not to expensive (Euros 4 a glass) and the rooms a reasonable size (For Euros 100). There is also a pool and...

This is a very pleasant hotel on the sea front at den helder. It's a 5 minute taxi ride from the train station which is pretty handy. Rooms are good , wifi is decent and breakfast is not bad. They do food in the evening but we ate up the road at a pub . Right on the dyke which...

The Beatrix is a small friendly hotel. The rooms are well furnished but we made a late booking and were given a huge suite room (No. 6) with views across the water, although the windows were opaque with salt spray. It is expensive compared to other hotels locally but is superior. There is a restaurant on the top floor but...

I selected this Hotel after trying another place in the area that didn't cover my expectations... Unfortunately, Den Helder doesn't have many options but the Grand Beatrix is good for a business trip. Rooms well mantained, the restaurant is very nice, pool and jacuzzi good extra feature, breakfast was also fine. Perhaps the place could use a bigger parking lot....

It is nice hotel but in the middle of no where unless you have a car to go to town center you are pretty much stuck with one Restaurant ''c'est la vie'' very delicious but kind of overpriced. I was glad not to stay there more than a week.

Very fast and pleasant (early) check in. Clean room, Nice bathroom with excellent shower. The bed was FIRM, but not uncomfortable. Had a very good dinner upstairs in the restaurant -bit pricey, but well worth it! Breakfasts are standard European fare, breads, meats and cheeses, and cereals, with scrambled eggs and sausages for hot food. I loved this pace for...

I spent one night on this hotel, located nearby the seaside. Fast check in, I found the room clean, reasonably big, with a big window and a terrace. Reasonable selection of TV channels and bathroom with all the necessary amenities. The restaurant is upstairs with the sea view and got a really relaxing atmosphere. The special menu of the day...

This hotel was a very pleasant stay. The room was good size with a decent bathroom. The bed was too firm for my taste. The breakfast was excellent, and the bar upstairs was nice, with very friendly staff. The location is beautiful with excellent views and opportunities for great walks.

“Chose a sea view room if you like that sort of view - but they are more expensive. Most rooms do not look over the water as the hotel is behind a dyke.”

“Some rooms are on the ground floor, so if that helps, specify these. To get a sea view you would need to be second floor.”

“A lot of stairs internally. If these are a problem let them know in advance to get a room closer to the lift. Lift noise is not a problem.”
