We booked for one night here to attend an event at Silverdome which is very nearby. As the event started early, we called in advance to see if we could check in earlier and we were told we could from 1pm, which helped us greatly.

The car park is extremely secure with a gate that can be opened by pressing the call button and opens automatically when you leave.

We arrived at reception to a very busy lady who was doing an amazing job answering the telephone and checking in guests. We were given room 44. The building is quite old with squeaky and loud doors, but didn't affect our stay.

The room itself is small, but was adequate for our needs. Unfortunately, they use plastic glasses and indidually wrapped soaps which is a big turn off for me, hotels should have reusable items in their rooms. The coffee cups were china, so why not actual drinking glasses as well? The irony was on the plastic glasses, there was a picture of a turtle, reminding you that sealife can be harmed by plastic.

Otherwise, we got a good night's sleep and the air conditioning was a godsend!

The bathroom is quite small, there is a ledge strangely above the sink, so makes washing quite difficult.

We didn't have breakfast, so cannot comment on that.

Would stay here again!

There were no allergen info signs at the breakfast buffet, despite having informed staff of mine. I was not aware of any list being available nor offered one, not all food-staff were aware of the ingredients in their offered foods. Despite asking I ended up eating bread with walnut, and needed medication. When my local friend tried to file a complaint with the manager he was told to 'let it go, we can't help you with this anymore' as it was my check-out day, before being removed from the premises. Also the initial room they had reserved for me had black mold and peeling ceilingpaint in the bathroom. Upon notifying reception I was moved to another room.

The staff, particularly housecleaning, were incredibly sweet, friendly, and helpful.

On my side of the hotel, I could not hear the trains.

Stayed 4 days from Australia. Room a little small for myself and 17 old son but clean and comfortable. Same for bathroom. Well serviced. Great breakfast with a wide variety of offerings. HIghlight is the staff, all were extremely friendly and helpful and made to feel very welcome. Would be a five but for the room size and the air conditioner controls left it a little cold sometimes,

we needed a place to stay as we couldn't stay with friends or family because of the covid-virus. the hotel is easy to find and has plenty of parking spaces and not far from great shopping centre and lovely park and beautiful lake. The hotel is clean and all staff are friendly and helpful. On the tv there is a channel that explains all the facilities, even how to use the coffee-machine! Enough choice for breakfast and dinner at reasonable prices.

Staff was friendly and helpful
The food and the drinks were also good
I liked the room, not spacious but comfortable with water and coffe for free which is something good.
The only thing that I didn't like was the lavatory in the toilet, tooo small to wash your face even!!
I say it's a nice hotel for 1 or 2 quick nights. With the necessary.
My stay was during the storm, the wind sound was loud from inside, and even a bit of cold winds was getting in from the window's corners.

Had a very good stay. Everything was perfect! A fast check in and check out. Very kind people at the desk. We didn't had breakfast but it looks good with fresh eggs. Good location, near by the highway and train.

Bastion was my hotel of choice for an international hockey tournament a couple of miles away at the Silverdome. I was coming from a business trip to Rotterdam, and between my business and sports bags, had a lot of luggage.

On the way to Rotterdam from Schiphol Airport, I stopped at the Bastion to see whether they would store my hockey bag for a few days before I checked in. They kindly agreed, meaning I didn’t have to drag that bag everywhere.

On my actual stay, I was satisfied. The lobby is clean and bright, with fresh fruit available. The rooms are also clean, bright simple, and comfortable.

Only two drawbacks. You better have a car or enjoy walking. The only place nearby is a McDonalds next door. The train station is a half mile away. Luckily Zoetermeer is threaded with bike and pedestrian paths, enabling me to walk to the arena and elsewhere. The other negative was my room corridor. They keep the lights off until sensors pick up a human presence. The effect is kind of spooky and dingy. But it was safe, comfortable, and the price was right.

In genaral it is not a terrible place. Room standard is ok, free parking, bed just fine... However, there is a railway running just behind the building. If you have a room there...no sleep after around 5 in the morning. Breakfast pretty poor as well, cocked items: almost raw very fat rich bacon. A few guests had egg fried by the hostess, nobody asked me. No toaster, badly organized, hard to find things. Enough, I will just try onother hotel next time.

the hotel gets more and more shabby, the standard rooms are now really poor. The noise from the railway now has a four hour break in the night, new windows would be a great investment. And the room doors just invite the guests to slam them as hard as possible, I won't be going back.

Friendly staff and a nice breakfast where you get served fried eggs or omelette made freshly by the staff. The bar is ok (bartender please pay more attention to your guests). Some of the rooms are close to the railway, so no windows can be left open unless you are a heavy sleeper. The standard is average, small bathrooms and empty minibar (vending machine in the reception).
Overall more than good enough for short stays, such as business or just overnight stays on your way to other destinations.
