The staff at reception were really lovely, very helpful and friendly. Our check-in & out were smooth. The building is not equipped to welcome in wheelchairs but they have a small lift that acts as a work-around. It's not ideal, though.

The room was an adequate size and quite comfy, clean and tidy. We were upgraded to a balcony with a view of the water which was really nice. The food in the restaurant was good; we had an excellent risotto dish for our evening meal. However the service was a bit slow. Breakfast offered a good variety and was a good value.

Public transport made the hotel easily accessed; they're across the road from a shopping mall, which I know would make some people very happy. We would stay at this hotel again.

Hotel was good, with free parking. The location is good. There are steps to get your suitcase into reception, although there is a wheelchair lift that could be used, it's not readily available. The breakfast had articles missing on both days. On the second visit there was no scrambled egg left or pancakes at 9.05. I did ask for more. Pancakes arrived but no scrambled egg. I would have have preferred to have been told that there wouldn't be any more scrambled egg, I waited for more but none arrived. Restaurant in the evening was a bit hit and miss also. There are plenty of places to eat in the area, so it's not a problem. The restaurant has lovely views. I would still stay again as The room was good and the restaurant wasn't terrible, just needs to be improved.

2 night stay, not hot water for the entire stay, seems whole hotel had issue but not even a drink voucher offered as a "sorry gift". To top it all off was told in restaurant that since we did not have a reservation for dinner (reception did not mention at check in) we would have to wait 2 hours till the "rush" was over. If the restaurant was busy, faur enough but a restaurant that is 2/3's empty was surreal. Thank goodness the hotel is surrounded by better and to be honest cheaper offerings so enjoyed the evening more outside. Positives? Room size not bad, WiFi fairly quick, breakfast, good selection and location. All these Positives somehow paled into comparison by the strange dinner and water experience.

I booked this hotel in May 2022 for it's location and more importantly to me the room facilities they offered. I booked the suite which was been advertised as having a balcony and kitchenette. It was a good bit more expensive than a regular room but as it had a small kitchen for our needs it was worth it.
We arrived at the hotel at the end of July, check-in was ok, we of course had to prepay and then we headed off to our suite.
We entered the room which had a massive table in the middle of it and a camp-like bed for our child which we had paid well for as an extra, to be honest, it was too unsteady for her safety and she shared with us.
I had said this when I was booking as the bed was huge anyway but the hotel insisted I had to get a separate bed and pay for it which I did.
Then I went on the look for the kitchenette as advertised and paid for, but there was no kitchen. There wasn't even a fridge, I had medication that required refrigeration and I thought maybe we have been given the wrong room,
I went down to reception and asked, I was told it was" Fletcher policy" No Kitchens, I told the receptionist I had booked and paid for these extra facilities and asked was there a fridge available ?? Guess what yes "Fletcher's policy" is no fridges and furthermore No air con either ... "Fletcher Policy" again...But I had paid for it.
We had a large room with a massive dining table and that was it.
I went to the bar to get ice but I was told they could only give me a small glass because they hadn't much. We were in the middle of extreme heat and had no way to try and keep the medication safe.
The reception staff was dismissive, unhelpful, and uninterested. I was traveling with an anaphylactic as well so the kitchen was going to take some of the stress away, I had neither and unfortunately, we were there for 3 days. The extra facilities were my draw to this place, I didn't mind paying extra but we got Nothing, it was a total rip-off.
This hotel continued to advertise the suite until the end of August, perhaps only after I had written to them several times and to one or two of the company directors. None of them got back to me of course from HQ.
It was my first and last time using the Fletcher Hotel chain. It was as most reviews say a bit rough in places. The outside to the front was nice but the side entrance was disgusting and this led into the bar/ restaurant area. The ground was stained not sure what type of fluids but it stank.
The reception staff was robotic it was like pay, take your key now away with you was their attitude.
The room as I said was completely misleading. It was nothing but a big room split in two with a massive dining table.
A holiday is meant to be a treat, a break. This place was a nightmare, totally false and misleading information at the time led us to 3 uneasy days away.
You may get people in once but there is nothing more valuable and rewarding than repeat business. I can't imagine it happens often here from other reviews. What a total sham, disgrace I could never trust any of your places again.. When we travel back to the Netherlands at Christmas it is far from a Fletcher we will be.

This hotel is probably located in the most incredible spot next to the Westfield Mall. When you are staying in a hotel in a Europe you could not ask for a better place to be.
The hotel cleaning crew were wonderful, friendly and always had smiles on their faces.
The front desk personnel were also friendly, helpful and always available.

Could’ve been an OK experience for my girlfriend and I, but unfortunately not the case.

Waking in the room we found hairs lying around the shower and bathroom floor.. Even though the sign said it was cleaned.

One lamp was broken.. which was not a really big deal.

The airconditioning was broken and it was pretty hot.

The minibar fridge was working but it was hot inside?? So could not be used

The furniture and everything looked quite old

Once again, all was very well. The bedroom was very nice. Very quite during the night. Nice vue on the water. We will come back for sure. The bedroom is spacious, the bathroom all new. Good dining in the evening. The parking is free. Tramway just next, to go to Den Haag. And Westfield mall in front.

This used to be a great hotel. Used to be a pleasure to stay here - even if it was for work!

It is now nothing short of appalling. The staff are discourteous and very rude, the restaurant was shut at 2030, and we were not told, even though we were sat there for an hour prior to this (and not even offered a drink), breakfast was awful (watered down orange juice sets the scene), rooms were slightly grubby, in need of some serious updating, my colleague had holes in her sheets, and their idea of a double room is 2 single beds.

I have never been to a hotel where the staff are so rude. Will never, ever be going back there again.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. There are many nice things about this hotel, but the best reason for staying here is the staff. They really are very friendly and helpful. Kristiaan, the Front Office Manager, was especially helpful and always asked if he could do anything for me. I had a beautiful view of the lake and park, so every morning and evening I could see the birds on the water and the people walking their dogs. The daily breakfast is really extravagant, with many choices, including smoked salmon and creme fraiche. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a really nice hotel and was a very nice surprise. I arrived to a very friendly welcome. Check-in was efficient and took only a few minutes.
The hotel is nicely laid out and has a good feel about it. My room on the 4th floor was clean, well organised and contained a double bed, flat screen tv with BBC1/2 and Channel 5 from the UK amongst the list. Two lounger chairs, a mini-bar, kettle for coffee/tea and glass doors onto the balcony overlooking the lake were also nice features. The bathroom was modern and contained a bath/shower.
I tried the restaurant at the hotel and it was excellent. The food was perfectly cooked. The breakfast area is served on a buffet basis and contains a large range of cold/hot food. Coffee/Tea is served by the waiters/waitresses and had a tendency to be slow at times.
Whilst at the Mercure I tried the gym, but I actually found it very disappointing. There is just one cross-trainer, one bicycle, one running machine and one weights machine. Its a very small room. It's an odd arrangement, because the changing room is not used and its as big again as the gym. I think my score for the hotel would have been a 5 if this had been better.
Overall though, I recommend this hotel if you are in the area. Its very nicely situated next to a lake. There is a shopping centre right next door as well as a good selection of restaurants.
