We had another great stay at Hotel van Oranje. As we are regular customers we did have the impression that there have even been some improvements since our last stay. The sea view rooms are a must. Even now that the hotel is not a part of Marriott anymore we were treated like royal guests. For the first time we had dinner every night at the hotel or the Beachclub O. What needs to be said is that the service at Beachclub O cannot keep up with the extraordinary and personal service the two young gentlemen gave us at Oriento restaurant - this was really over the top. Food and drink selection is excellent in both places and of course the Beachclub O is a great location. We do hope we will be kept up to date about the planned major renovations of the hotel as we assume the hotel will not be available for some time. Once again thank you very much to all the wonderful staff.

We really loved our night at this hotel, which is every bit as luxurious and comfortable as you expect. Staff are great, beds super comfy, lovely Art Deco style rooms, superb spa area. Only reason not giving a five is that the pool was full of children from outside and really left no space (or ambience) for guests (especially in current covid situation). But I get why hotels need extra income in this day and age and it certianly won't stop us coming back!

A real five star plus hotel. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Rooms are quiet and quite large. The food is excellant. There is a huge indoor wave pool. The hotel is directly across the street from the North sea with a beach which goes on for ever. The nearby town has a small shopping area with reasonable prices. This hotel is expensive but well worth it. We will go back.

We booked 2 nights + 3 days Wellness treatments. The first day was catastrofic and we decided to leave early. What went wrong?:
1) Signing to rooms non-existing;
2) Signing to Wellness invisible;
3) Pool entry chaotic, I got Preston Palace deja vu;
4) Staff at pool entry very non-friendly;
5) ‘Oriental’ restaurant for lunch only 3 ‘easy’ oriental dishes, dinner was OK.
6) Paying for lunch chaotic, 10% discount card did not work needed to go twice by ourself to reception to fix, 2nd time big cue....
7) Bubblepool and sauna in wellness area open to all public, need to be naked to use, got company of old dirty men who wanted to ‘socialize’ brrrrrr
8) Watercooker in room did not work;
9) The carpet in the room feels sticky on yr bare feet.
The Wellness treatment was very good.
Bottom line too many smaller details not in line
with our expectations for a 5star facility.

In 2005 we spent four days in May at the Oranje Hotel after having stayed there in 2004 for three days.
The hotel is very comfortable with that typical Dutch casual luxury. You do not need to dress up and still feel comfortable all over the place.
The Oranje Hotel is connected to the Beach Hotel, which has a marvellous restaurant called "T'Elfde Gebood". Great food, nice and cosy atmosphere.
The staff in both places is always most helpful and charming.
Spend some extra money on a seaview room, you won't forget the sunset and the stunning views onto the North Sea. The breakfast is nice.
All in all, an expensive, but very pleasant place to be- simply the best in Noordwijk!
If you want a great dinner: Try "Paul's Recept", a wonderful tiny place near the Palace Hotel. Great food, marvellous staff!
Enjoy your time in Noordwijk just as much as we did and will do again in the future!

I recently booked two rooms through my travel agent for a Saturday/Sunday stay, prior to my return to the US after a week of business in Europe. My travel agent booked an advertised package through World Wide Hotels,(This Hotel is a member), the Royal Club Weekend package. It was supposed to include a four star hotel with a land view room, free breakfast buffet on both days and a free dinner on the night of arrival.
When I checked in with a business associate we were told that there was no such package, we were refused the buffets and the dinner, we were told that we could not use the hotel spa, and we were given two rooms on the lowest floor overlooking the parking lot directly over the truck delivery entrance. Trucks began deliveries on both days at 6:00am. The front desk personnel were rude and uncaring; they made no effort to explain or offer anything in respect of my "package" which was clearly stated on the reservations. I will never stay at this Hotel again and I will warn all of my business associates to avoid this hotel. By the way, the picture of the hotel shown on the website is misleading; this is the "5 star" portion of the hotel. If you book a "4 star" room it is a different hotel entirely 200 meters away from this hotel.

They made a mistake when I checked out and missed to charge me (I missed it as well) for some items consumed from the minibar. They now come back a month later and want to charge me for it. They actually already have by charging my credit card and that without my approval or signature. This is not the way to treat your guests if you want them to return.

We stayed at this hotel nearly two weeks ago for one night. We paid €237 to stay in an whoopwhoop EXECUTIVE room, lucky us, I thought...
When we arrived at night after a wonderful day at the beach, we had to pick up our bag in the other building. No problem, then we arrived in a mouldy retro-room that as frequentflyer197 already stated should have been refurbished in the 90s.
It was quite hot in the room, so let's switch on the AC...... Where is it? Let's call the desk, his reply (totally serious):"Eeeeh, the only AC available is opening the balcony door"
OK problem: loud music everywhere outside, no option, switching to another room, not possible.
We had 65 dB in our freakin hot mouldy room until 2 am....... After complaining the next to the staf, there was no compensation nor excuse possible. It just wasn't their fault, so also not their problem!
THE HOTELS OF ORANJE HAVE GONE FROM SOME PRESTIGE TO WHAT WE SAY IN HOLLAND: 'VERGANE GLORIE'
Don't stay here!

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. Good hotels on the dutch coast are hard to find and I thought this one would be great for a weekend in april at the beach. In General Holland has a hard time offering the value that is common around the world. Onky big cities like amsterdam live up to the international standards. It's not in the Dutch culture to offer high class service. This hotel suffers from that.
The rooms are a bit outdated, although they pride themselves with having renovated the hotel in 2014. The airconditioning is a big super old machine that blows the same temperature regardless of the setting. The bath towels in the pool would go for napkins in other hotels.
We paid 200 euros for the rooms and asked for a kids rollaway bed. Not a problem anywhere in the world. But here it was 50 euros extra! 25% of the room price. Not something you would expect at a five star hotel. Parking is 20 euros per day, almost the same rate as the center of Amsterdam. That is if you stay outdoor. Indoor is 35 euros per night. More expensive that the city center of Amsterdam. No discount compared to non-guests.
All these things you would expect at a 3 star discount hotel. But not at a hotel that claims to be 5 star.

Usually I am not such a ‘naming and shaming’ person but I have to get this off my chest.
After having a pleasant stay here recently, yes it needs some refurbishments etc but the location makes up for it, we decided to come back mainly for the excellent restaurant (Dutch) in the hotel.
Unfortunately we discovered that the friendly service is just an appearance.
A relatively small problem with an extra amount booked from my credit card seems like a difficult puzzle to solve for the staff who do not seem to take issues like this seriously and hope that the issue resolves by itself.
Having called twice followed by an email for clarification of the extra amount did not yield any result, therefore just a small warning to other potential victims.
It’s not the amount (looking at the total bill) it’s the fact that without reason an extra amount can be taken of, in my dictionary that is called theft (no we did not empty the minibar/trash the place or took a souvenir bathrobe…..)
Our next stay in Noordwijk aan Zee unfortunately has to be with the competitor.

You cannot smoke in the hotel. The beach is just across the street so do what you like !!
Confirmed. They did their best...
I can say for sure that the nicer rooms definitely have them in there. Every time I stayed at this hotel they always put me in the nicest room they had regardless of the rate. This was very likely because I was a Marriott platinum member.
