Built in 1907 over a pre-existing structure, Villa Rosmarino is a typical Ligurian small palace with green shutters and trompe l’oeil which reproduce on the wall frescoes, decorations and floral motifs. To its first owner, a local sea captain who commissioned the building at the end of XIX century, Villa Rosmarino was their country home where to take rests in between long seafaring journeys, but also where the olives coming from the trees and land surrounding the villa were crushed. In the ground floor was an old oil mill to produce olive oil for the needs of the resident family but also for those residing in the neighboring villas. The grind stones of the oil mill have been kept after the restructuring and are part of the decoration of the garden of the villa.

We recently spent 4 nights at the Villa. Mario was an amazing host and his attention to detail was simply outstanding - the Villa is both modern and old in the best of ways. His small team of staff were helpful and attentive. Marta never minded answering all of our questions prior to arriving and even helped us with figuring out how to get there! Hanging out at the pool and having a bottle of prosecco was simply heaven. I can't wait to return again! Pamela

My husband and I just returned from a stay at the Villa. We were only there for two nights but wish we could have stayed longer. The villa is a perfect retreat in the Liguria. We basically had the place to ourselves as it is towards the end of the season. It was still quite warm and the water swimmable. There is a short walk to the town which we did every evening. I can’t recommend this place enough. It has all the amenities that one would need. The breakfast every morning was quite nice. Hope to return soon.

We only planned for 2 nights at Villa Rosmarino, but after our experience there I wish we'd book an entire week there. So lovely, so peaceful, and the owners and staff couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. Our room was beautifully designed and had a gorgeous view of the water and town. The peaceful fishing village vibe of Camogli was a nice respite from packed Venice, Florence and Rome, and our *gorgeous* day hike up through San Rocco, through the woods and down to the monastery and beach of San Frutuosso, followed by a ferry ride to beautiful Portofino, was my favorite day of our entire 2 weeks in Italy. So glad we took an Italian friend's recommendation to spend a few days here vs. in more packed Cinque Terre. And the breakfast was perfect ~ simple, fresh, delicious (those fresh croissants and that apricot jam?!), set in the idyllic outdoor patio setting by the pool. Can't recommend Villa Rosmarino highly enough, and hope to return for longer some day.

We stayed at the Villa Rosmarino for 5 nights, the villa is beautiful, contemporary and stylish. The garden and pool area are beautiful and the view all around amazing. The sound of church bells were hypnotising, they made you stop and breath and just listen. Such a simple pleasure. The owners were welcoming and took time to explain facilities, local areas of interest and recommended restaurants. Mario arranged Vespa hire for us and was extremely accommodating and helpful. You can walk into Comogli down through the garden and then down many steps, you have to be fit and mobile, if not take a taxi. The train and ferry services made exploring easy, we visited Portofino and San Margaritta, both beautiful. The villa has an honesty bar so able to enjoy a cold glass of wine by the pool and a light lunch is available if required. The breakfast is served in the garden and was amazing, such choice and the quality was outstanding. We had a wonderful stay, you will not find better hosts, thanks to all.

Our first experience of Villa Rosmarino was the lovely Marta who met us at the gate as our taxi pulled up - what a find she is! Friendly and super-helpful, she is a mine of information on the local area, where to go, what to see, where to eat, and will make reservations for you at the best restaurants. The guest house itself is a restored villa, the traditional exterior belying the modern interior - all polished concrete and contemporary art. Breakfasts are stunning, taken by the pool, and we looked forward to them every day. We booked a superior room - none of the doors have names or numbers but it was on the first floor and was spacious with the most comfortable and large bed! Unfortunately there is no air conditioning but being uphill from Camogli means a breeze with the windows open - this also means mosquitoes so if you are susceptible to being bitten take some insect repellent, although this is also true in the morning and when you go out in the evening. The wifi was the only thing that could be improved - it was weak to non-existent in our room, but strong in the public areas so it wasn't a massive problem. The walk to Camogli in the evening for dinner is downhill all the way and a pleasant 10 - 15 minutes; slightly longer and more exhausting on the way back, but you can walk off your dinner!
