This hotel is absolutley perfect. It is in the ideal location in Limone. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast on the balcony overlooking the lake is something i will never forget. Thankyou for an amazing experience. Hopefully we will be back one day.
We were here end September/beginning Oct. Had not booked anything as we thought plenty of space at this time of year, but in fact choices were limited. We looked at 5 others before coming to Splendid Palace. Were wanting 4 nights, they only had 2 but we were so impressed we took that anyway. We then stayed a third night when it became available. On the face of it at €160 a night it was more expensive than the alternatives but in fact with half-board included it was good value. The evening meal buffet was easily the best of this style we have ever had. The hotel being full probably helped this, but the choice of interesting dishes was excellent, and beer and wines included, so one could start with a beer or wine as aperitif, soup, crudites, antipasto, fish course, pasta course, main course, delicious dessert, choice of cheeses, and then coffee. Our meals took a while! Breakfast not quite up to the same standard but still good. Our room was comfortable with a balcony and lovely views. We used the indoor pool several times. Only negative really is that both indoor and outdoor pools are a bit shallow for swimming, presumably for safety as there's no life-guard. The indoor pool is heated but not very much. When we were there most guests were part of German tour groups and as we don't speak German not much conversation. Location is handy for Limone village and the ferries. Parking no problem.…
Splendid name and a splendid hotel. The food was very good for half board and free wine made it even nicer. The staff were helpful, polite and on the ball with service. The actual town itself was lovely. There were plenty of excellent bars and cafes to eat, drink and watch the world go by. The ferry service negates the need for a car as it runs to all the main areas and runs very promptly. A walk up the mountains at Limone is lovely - just make sure you have the right shoes on for the walk. The one “must do” is the ferry to Malcesne and a trip up the cable car. The views from the top are exceptional and there are some great paths to walk around and with every corner the views change. All in all a wonderful place to visit for a relaxing and pleasurable holiday
welcomed by the staff on checking in, they looked after us the whole week, great choice and quality of food at breakfast and in the evening, the free wine beer & soft drinks was a added bonus that we enjoyed, don't miss the happy hour, we didn't, the bar prices were reasonable at all times but worth taking advantage of the happy hour. the down side, the size of the shower rooms, and the bar at the poolside closed last weekend, nearly forgot the secret garden worth using, would consider staying here again
We stayed here in September for our wedding that was held at Limone Town Hall. In total we had 4 rooms for 7 of us. We had a great experience at the hotel. We had 2 deluxe rooms that were amazing with spectacular views of Limone. We also had two other Lakeside rooms. The only negative was that the single room that was occupied by my son was old and tired and in need of some attention. Breakfast was lovely. So much selection available and everything was prepared and cooked perfectly. It was a real treat every day. The location of The Splendid is fantastic. It has excellent views of the lake and its own back entrance to Limone which was a few minute walk to lovely bars and restaurants. All staff were really helpful and friendly. We loved our time at The Splendid and will definitely return. Infact already looking to book for our first anniversary.…
