A very charming hotel with a lovely family atmosphere. Located near to all the main sites. Nice room with a view over the small pool and garden. Nice bathroom. Comfortable but not luxurious. Secure parking available at extra cost. Breakfast included. We also had dinner in the garden which although not a great meal it did have a lovely atmosphere... More

We try to stay here every time we are in Merida. The place is fascinating and in a perfect location to tour the fabulous old Roman ruin around the city. the front desk people were very helpful, and there seemed to be an exciting atmosphere all around.

In spite of a big wedding, we enjoyed our stay here. it's rather rambling and you need a sense of direction to avoid getting lost. The main entrance is in a pedestrianized zone so if arriving by car enter by the car park/garage sign. there's a charge for parking but 'Amigos' members get a reduced rate in the rather tight... Parador in the city center and they has luckely a parking (16 euros / night) because street parking is not an option. Nearly everything what you can visit in old part of Merida can be reached walking. The parador is quite large in length so a lot of walking is required mainly because elevators are not central. By stairs, it... More

This chain of hotels stretching across Spain are all 4* and in quite unusual locations. This one in Merida is no exception and is well worth a visit. A 17th century building that has been a convent, prison and mental asylum in it time before in the 30's becoming yet another Parador. A bit of a maze when you arrive,... More

We arrived on a Saturday to find the place absolutely buzzing with numerous wedding parties and receptions as this is a very large parador. Staff were working incredibly hard but the place is obviously well-managed as we had no trouble being served in the cafe or at check-in. We anticipated noise at night but the room was really quiet with... More

Our large rooms at the Parador were excellent - huge comfortable bed, well equipped bathroom and toilet (except that the bathroom had obviously been designed by a woman, as the shaving mirror was nowhere near the power socket), plenty of closet space, small balcony overlooking the central patio (which would be nicer if it didn't have to double as a... We stayed at the Parador on a visit to historic Merida. Very welcoming reception. Room 215 Superior Room. Wonderful. The dining room offered local food. Varied and delicious. Extremadura wines were correctly priced and excellent. Restaurant staff were super. Parador is highly recommended.

This parador is nestled in centre of town. The streets are narrow and driving to the back where garage is involes arguments with gps. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Beds are not luxurious but OK. The place is in a historic building so has to fit in. Staff OK. Recommended.

During our trip in the Estremadura region, we have been in other two Paradores a common problem in this properties., it's the drainage system, this happened in Zafra, and also this one had some problems.Nevertheless, the convent is very nice,it's central, has a lovely patio, where you can have a drink. or tea, I suggest with some local handmade biscuits,...
