We have just returned from Case Viña de Alcantara, which we totally adored. The house itself is beautiful, as are the gardens, pool area, vineyards and forests - all of which you can access. The breakfast was substantial and delicious, the rooms large, lovely, comfortable and clean with good bathrooms. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and we wish... More

We found this delightful place thanks to Alastair Sawday, who has very rarely let us down. We wanted somewhere to stay on our last night before going to see a bodega and then flying home from Seville. We got in a muddle trying to find the place essentially because I'm cheap and our maps were out of date. However it's... More

We stayed at Casa Vina when we really needed a rest and it worked for us.The butlers are charming and seem genuinely delighted to look after you. There is not much in the way of amity on the property except a gorgeous garden and pool. Butlers provide simple lunches and excellent dinners by arrangement. While the stables on the property... A beautiful old country house property. Our room on the ground floor with the four-poster bed was very comfortable, with a large bathroom and lovely high ceilings which kept the room cool. The casa is conveniently situated to explore the south of Andalucia, and we made use of it mainly as a base to visit the white hill towns (Arcos... More

This is a beautiful house with private grounds, you are made so welcome, the rooms are large and luxurious. We had dinner here on are last day, you have to let them know in the morning as the food is bought in the morning and cooked when you want it in the evening. We were so suprised as it was... More

We arrived at Casa Vina de Alcantara after a long day of travel and could not have felt more welcomed. From the reservation experience to the follow-up email of ''Thanks" the experience was pitch perfect. Our room, upstairs, was generous in size and blissfully quiet. We are discerning about bed comfort and we were not disappointed. The staff was endlessly... More

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Vina de Alcantara ! Beautiful unmanicured grounds with a perfect pool. The interior is extremely tastefully decorated throughout , large bedroom with a massive bed and marble bathroom and comfy towels and dressing gowns. We only had a breakfast meal but that was faultless. Bacon and egg, OJ,fruit, cereal ,toast and homemade jam etc .... More

I arrived as a walk-in, having come from Morocco by motorcycle. To say I was grubby is an understatement. I was made welcome, given a choice of rooms and the possibility of an evening meal discussed. Nothing was overlooked. The woodwork in in the house is exquisite, the furniture and decor beyond reproach and the meals are well presented and... More

We loved this place. It was a little difficult to get to, the GPS we used did not recognize the location and our WAZ GPS was not good, but once we found the place we were in heaven. It seems like you have a private butler at your disposal all the time. They were very helpful and the service was... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Casa Vina de Alcantara. The staff were excellent and very helpful and the room and pool area were excellent. It was a bit difficult to get to but well worth the effort. Thoroughly recommended

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Concealed in a dense arboreal garden of palms, cypresses, myrtle, bay and lentiscs, lies a secret world, the world of Casa Alcantara, an exclusive accommodation only 10 minutes from Jerez airport, Cadiz, Andalucia. Here the family had their private shooting box; and on a bright crisp winter's day, they would retire from shooting partridge to indulge in the simple pleasure of a country fireside, glittering copas of cooled Tio Pepe, or amber oloroso, and a homely lunch of hot sopa de ajos, eggs from the farm hens, gently fried in olive oil, or perhaps some spinach or Swiss chard grown between the vineyards on the hills behind the house. ... more   less
