Nice hotel, very nice pool, good value for money. Not far from the city centre. Rooms and SPA need bit of refurbishment. The restaurant is cool though. Would recommend for short break to enjoy the sun at the poolside and visit this nice town.

This is our second visit to this hotel. Since our last visit a new restaurant has opened next door, attached to the outside of the building. Whilst it has a lovely outdoor space and a quality interior it lacked the intimacy of the original restaurant. The previous one was closed up which was a shame as it would have been nice to have a choice. The rooms are basic but comfortable and clean and there was sufficient space for the two of us. There’s plenty of wardrobe and drawer capacity too. The bathroom was in desperate need of a refresh and while clean and a good size the floor was soaked every time we took a shower. We had a garden view room which was pretty enough but the awful plastic seating does not make for a comfortable lounge on the patio. The wooden fencing between the rooms is a disgrace and is beyond repair. The location of the hotel is fantastic for traveling the surrounding areas and is a nice walking distance into Jerez where there’s a multitude of eateries to choose from. The free parking is also a great asset. Sadly the gym is not fit for purpose and needs air conditioning and we set our alarm for 6am to run outdoors as it was way too hot in the gym. There was work being done there as the carpet was pulled up and new screed laid at 9am for our last few mornings. Fortunately we were already awake. The outdoor pool is nice and the outdoor bar was open too so visiting in June was better. This hotel is still nice but each room would benefit from a kettle and tea/coffee facilities as there’s a little fridge in each room.

The Hotel Jerez & Spa is in a quiet spot a short bus/taxi ride from the town centre of historic Jerez de la Frontera. We had a delicious well-organised breakfast in the hotel restaurant but we also caught the bus (from outside the hotel, €1.10, about 15 minute ride) into town to breakfast at one of the many cafeterias. We enjoyed the bustling town, with lots to see. Lunch like the Spanish in a Tabanco, choose your tapas (google the items as you choose) and try from the wide range of sherry. Visit the information centre where we were advised to take the short train ride to Puerto Santa Maria then the ferry to Cadiz, again for just a few euros. A fantastic stress-free day out. Back at the hotel there was a great choice for the evening meal with pleasant service and delicious food. Just one negative point about the service, the hotel needs to hire more staff and more experienced staff for the open terrace restaurant as the season gets busy. We experienced one evening of almost “Fawlty Towers” confusion but I hope that was an exception. We really enjoyed the hotel outdoor pool with attached bar.

This is a very charming hotel which has more of a resort feel about it, owing to the large clean pool, pool bar, numerous sunbeds and well maintained gardens. The rooms are clean and spacious with balconies. Ours had a garden view while others have a view of the pool (and direct access to the pool area from rooms on the ground floor). The room also had nice little complementary touches including small bottles of water, coke and beer. All around the hotel the staff are professional, diligent and friendly. The place is dated but we kinda liked that traditional feel and overall is well maintained. If you love horses then you'll be in your element. Breakfast is diverse with some excellent meats and cheeses of the region. The connected restaurant is outstanding, enticing locals and guests alike. The food was delicious, the selection of drinks (sherries!) vast and the service top class. We loved sitting out in the sunny courtyard and on the day of our departure we didn't want to leave! The hotel is a bit of a walk into the main town (around 20-30mins) but we didn't mind the exercise. It's a straight paved route in so easy to find. There are a few bars and restaurants en route if you feel the need to stop off along the way. Another option is to cycle as there are cycle paths everywhere and it's all flat. Think you can borrow them from the hotel. One evening we took a cab back from the main rank and it was less than 5 euros. We had a fabulous stay here and we wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend to others. My husband is looking at flights back to Jerez as I type!

This hotel was a big disappointment. The rooms are in desparate need of refurbishment. The flooring in two of our rooms was in such a bad state I would say it needs entirely replacing. The bathroom floor had brown marks from rust in many places. The bathroom fittings were cheap quality and the shower door had a gap between it and the bath which meant that water poured onto the floor during my shower which I then had to mop up with towels. The food at breakfast was adequate but the food in the restaurant was absolutely appalling. I had a burger which was small and completely tasteless (how do you achieve that?), and which came with a stone cold untoasted bun, a tiny bit of salad which had no dressing, and a few crisps. Not even a side of chips. The menus were printed on cheap tatty paper and were all crumpled up, so maybe that was a clue I should have picked up on. They did not have the wine we ordered. The man behind the bar was in no hurry to acknowledge my existence at the bar; he was abrupt and terse in manner, and when I asked for Tío Pepe he said yes but then slyly served me a different sherry, which was a brand I did not recognise. Finally the lift is ridiculously noisy! It makes an almighty clunking sound every time it starts and stops (which is frequently) and a very loud whirring sound when it's in motion, which either prevents you from sleeping or wakes you up if you did manage to get to sleep since the last person used it. This whole hotel needs a major overhaul... better yet just knock it down and start again. There's too much to fix. In 2019 I don't expect to stay in a hotel like this and I recommend that you don't either. Really the only good thing I can say about is that the girl at reception was very nice and also helpful.
