Found this lovely hotel by chance while heading for Seville by car. Location wise, it’s perfect being just off the motorway, with more than adequate parking facilities. We were offered a variety of welcome drinks on arrival, which was a nice touch. The staff are first class and speak good English. The room was lovely, and had some small touches of luxury items of chocolates and macarons, and a Nespresso coffee machine. There is a bar which serves snacks, and a lovely restaurant where we had a five star dining experience in terms of service and food. Special mention to Juan for his attentive service. There is also a spa which unfortunately we didn’t have time to use. The hotel is fairly isolated, however 15 minutes drive takes you in to the lovely town of Caceres which has good choice of cafes and restaurants.…
Have stayed at this hotel at least once a year for the last six years. It underwent a major refurbishment a couple of years ago including a new pool. Unfortunately although the rooms were upgraded to include central air conditioning rather than noisy machines in each room the comfortable old style chairs and sofas were replaced by rather utalitarian grey awkward pieces that are far from comfortable. The spa is still the hotel's outstanding feature and is free for guests to use but the food is uninspiring from breakfast through to dinner and not wothy of a five star hotel that is several kilometres away from other eating venues.
You are simply abandoned in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no service. We arrived at 16:00 without having had lunch and nowhere in the hotel was possible to get a bite. Even room service did not work. You would be much better off in downtown Caceres. Hotel Don Manuel seems to be the best choice
Stunning hotel with great facilities and the staff were a credit to the hotel. Only stayed one night but wish could have stayed more. The rooms were luxurious and well equipped. The pool area is great and we had cocktails by the pool which is always great. Th restaurant serves delicious food and fair priced. We now have our go to hotel when we travel to Portugal as definitely want a return visit
This was in fact our 4th visit staying at this wonderful Hotel. We first found it when we were taking a trip down to the south of Spain. As someone else mentioned, don’t stay for just one night, do three!! Now we keep coming back … it really is such a relaxing Oasis - and the town of Cáseres is lovely too We are in Galicia and we think it’s well worth the 6.5hr drive to spend a long weekend, (along with our dog!) when we need some sun! We stayed 5 nights on this visit The hotel and staff have always been great in our experiences here, but on this particular visit I have to mention Alejandro! He was the bar attender/manager in the pool bar area, who was fantastic, he was clearly very experienced, although my husband speaks Spanish, mines not great, so it did help that Alejandro spoke such good English so could explain things for me! He was kind and genuine ..Even our dog loved him! Food is great, most nights we ate at the pool bar, the salmorejo was just delicious! And the breakfast has a great selection. For people travelling with dogs, this really is the best place we have stayed in our travels, there’s a good decent walk on a track around the hotel and plenty of bins, she was allowed to sit with us in the pool bar while we had a drink or ate. Rooms are lovely, along with the lovely smelling toiletries! I’m looking forward to coming back again soon !…
If this hotel/spa was easily accessible from the UK, I think we would be there every weekend! It's about 2 miles/3km from Caceras centre and one of the most tranquil and beautiful hotels we've been to. Modern, fantastic pool with large poolside bar and dining area, nesting storks just a few metres away on high poles (the area is a world heritage site). A Hidden Gem. And price of room and food and drinks very reasonable. If you are looking for a stopover enroute to southern Spain or Portugal, don't just do 1 night, consider 3, you won't be disappointed. And book direct on the Hospes website, easy to do and discounted prices.
This is a great choice. The hotel is made up of historic complex of buildings with new additions. Everything is first class. Plenty of free parking whether you choose outside or indoor parking. We had a junior suite which was great, very large and nicely furnished. All members of the staff were a delight. None of the Covid this and Covid that bs responses for service issues/failures. Breakfast great and also evening dining. Really an amazing complex just on the edge of town.
This hotel was utterly fantastic ! Beautiful ultra modern - but traditional- design - every area stunning. The spa is just beautiful !! Alongside all this we were fascinated by the obvious conservation of the surrounding area - particularly the Storks nesting on stands We were able to take our little dogs out in the grounds and marvel at the sights and sounds. Cannot praise this place - and staff - enough.
Very nice place in a historical building close to Caceres. Excellent location. You can get to any restaurant in Caceres within 10 minutes by taxi, it is only 500 meters from the highway, so you can hit the road right away, if you are moving further without a pleasure of having to get out of town and at the same time it is very quiet. We stayed 3 nights being on a mini-vacation and we have never heard any noise in the room. Not fantastic, but very adequate breakfast and dinner in hotel's restaurant. Friendly and service-minded personnel. One thing I couldn't understand though. We booked a Suite, which had a nice big bathroom with ample shower cabin. Door of the latter was about 15 cm shorter than the cabin itself. Photo attached. Maybe it is a high design thing, of course. But when either my wife or I were taking a shower water was freely flowing out of this hole onto the floor in the bathroom. So, we had to make sure not to be putting our slippers too close not to have them washed away. And housekeeping should be trained a little bit more. I am not going to share the details here, but if anybody from the hotel (and I was showing something to a front desk manager) cares to read this, they will know what I am talking about.…
Really wanted to give a very good review after the last one posted. The hotel was clean and tidy. Reception very good, plenty of free parking. Room 129 quiet, well appointed, bathrobe, slippers, bottle water etc. v comfortable though we couldn’t find any British tv on their set. Dined at the restaurant: this was disappointing. Husband had salmon in a broth, liquid brown, not sure what it was. I had lamb with potatoes it arrived cold, I sent it back, it came back warmer, still on a cold plate but tasty. We then ordered the tiramisu to share, came in a small dish plonked on a hot plate. What is that all about? V average taste sadly. The staff were all lovely but I guess they have problems in the kitchen/staffing. Such a shame. Breakfast ok. Note: it’s easy to miss the entrance as it’s off the roundabout down a small turning marked Camino Agricola. Shame the hotel can’t put their name on the sign as once missed you have to a a long way down the N521 to be able to turn back and try again to get in.…
