Parador hotels properties are special and historical. We have tried several Parador properties and found the services and standards varied across the spectrum. The best one we stayed so far is still the one in Santiago and hoping the one in Granada will be good. Merida and Caceres have been disappointing. In Caceres they are so many beautiful properties I... More

We've stayed in this parador before and loved the ambience and teeming busy exciting atmosphere! They remodeled the place and it was very nice.... but the remodel changed it and as a result the place somehow lost the fun exciting feel. It seemed very boring, modern and clean-cut. Too bad!

I heard read that access to the Parador was tricky and it was! There is very little parking outside the Parador and getting to it meant enlisting the help of a native Spaniard and using my O level Spanish to negotiate my way through very narrow streets to reach the top of the hill and the Parador. Fortunately there was... More

Getting to this Parador by car was not easy - once again thank goodness for the Tom Tom. The building is beautiful and a clever contrast of old and new. Our room and bath room were lovely and by the reception. Arriving early (2pm) was a distinct advantage as we were able to park easily unlike one of the other... More

A wonderful atmospheric place that really comes alive at night. Walking through the narrow passageways of Caceres you can imagine yourself back in the 14th century. The accommodation in the Parador is excellent, but, beware, the parking is a nightmare! Best idea is to drop luggage off and let the hotel staff take you to their own secure parking.

Mixed opinions, the staff were all excellent, but they need to be, parking is very difficult, after arriving, mostly good signing and sat nav helped, and finding their small, very tight, free parking area full took 10 min drive down very narrow one way streets to get back to Main entrance. Their driver then led a convoy of 4 cars... More

This was our first stay in a Parador - highly anticipated - and it did not disappoint. The location is superb, right in the medieval core of the town and is a very convenient base for exploring. The building, a former 14C palace, has some beautifully refinished common areas. It was worthwhile just to to sit in some of the... More

We stayed for just 2 nights and wished we had stayed longer. We found the hotel staff, who helped with parking to those on reception and in the cafe /restaurant, to be much more friendly than those of other paradors we stayed in. The room was great with the usual comfy beds and great facilities, coupled with a big sofa... More

Nice hotel in the most beautiful area of the city, the monumental part of Cáceres. This used to be a late medieval castle but was recently refurbished in sleek and modern interiors. I personally found it a bit impersonal and with little charm inside, but this is perfect for those who want to stay in old Cáceres with all the... More

We stayed for two nights in a standard room. Very comfortable, lovely staff, good breakfast and right in the heart of Caceres. Parking was OK if you got there in time for a space. Easy to find, not quite so easy to find your way out of those narrow streets!
