Stayed here for two nights - Caceres is a UNESCO World Heritage site because of the beautiful walled city and its history, but also it was Gastronomic Capital of Spain in 2015. Because it is about three hours from each of Madrid, Lisbon and Seville, it does not get the international visitors it deserves. So, having set the context, it...

You will find this stunning Polo/Perez two-star restaurant high up in the centre of the old town, tucked away up winding cobbled streets. Cácares is not on many traditional tourist routes but this place literally merits the detour into the hesrt of Extremadura and the region's fsbulous food. The hotel blends with the old city but inside is a modern...

Yes, it is expensive, but it is the experience of a lifetime. We chose lunchtime so as not to drive back to Trujillo in the dark. Greeted as special guests, impressive tour of the stunning (multi-million $) wine cellar, quiet table overlooking a courtyard garden. Choice of a 'all time' or 'modern tasting menu. We chose the latter - many...

A world class property. Stayed in a junior suite with a nice private patio, two person granite shower. The restaurant is 2 stars, not sure why---I've dined in multiple 3 stars and this is equal to any. Incredible wine cellar-35,000 bottles , anything you could want to drink they have. We chose 2 Spanish wines from Benjamin Romeo as they...

To ask for a cocktail in Cárceres is the same as asking for an Uber on the moon. "Cok-eh-thal-eth. Como? Cerveja?" But if you ignore the locals, open the right doors (and your bill fold), you will be rewarded. 2 margaritas. €40. Best €40 I spent this morning! Because it's bloody hard to spend that much anywhere else. Dinner looks...

Incredible all round experience. Definitely in my top 3 in the world, with Le Manoir Aux Q'Saisons and Celler de can Roca. Food was exceptional the new taster menu is to die for. The Bloody Mary appetiser - wow! Staff so friendly during our stay and made our dogs very welcome including home made dog treats to go! Plus in...

What a great ambience this restaurant has! You are not bunched up near other diners yet the place feels warm not cold. Just one of the things they have got right. Each dish was a small masterpiece...so exquisite to look at and to taste. The wine is excellent and we were helped with our choice. No sense of filling our...

This is a perfect place for a romantic 24-48 hours. It's not just located in a sensationally beautiful unesco world heritage site but it's a jewel in terms of a superb gastronomic experience with some world class wines difficult to source elsewhere. Luxury accommodation, very high level of service and attention to every particular details. All this makes the journey very...

We spent one night here and enjoyed the tasting menu very much - beforehand we had a tour of the wine cellar and the kitchen which was very interesting and educational. With 12 courses to enjoy there was little to criticise a great deal of time and effort went into the creation of the dishes with fabulous fusion of flavours....

First class attention, great location, top service, beautiful room and one of the best restaurants on earth! A must. This region of Spain also deserves more attention. It offers much more than pata negra hamm, beautiful landscapes specially in the north of the province of Caceres, very friendly people. No mass tourism.
