The description led one to expect more than it could offer. All the air conditioning in the hotel was out of order, the temperatures were in the mid to high 30 degrees "C". Meaning one needed windows open. But because there were two night clubs opposite that stayed open until three in the morning one got no sleep. One could...

The hotel does possess an old world charm and we cannot fault the staff who did an amazing job. Unfortunately, due to the air conditioning being out of commission throughout the hotel and the temperature ranging between 25°-36°C during our stay it became necessary to sleep with the window shutters open. Considerable traffic noise was experienced up to midnight and...

We enjoyed Hotel Albarragena (in November) in the junior suite which was well priced for such a large accommodation. Huge, clean bathroom with a well-designed tub. The furniture was older but we focused on the lovely common rooms such as the library and sitting areas and it has one of the more beautiful staircases. Juan, a receptionist, deserves special mention...

We have spent a weekend and the room are nice, but be careful! ask for the one on the rear. The one one the front are just opposite to trandy bar, so that your plan is not going to join them, you will be awake till 4 in the morning. The hotel is nice but wrong location to rest at...

First impressions of rthe Albarragena are fine - a grand exterior of this old building in the heart of the city, and sweeping staircase. but once inside my room (a wrestling match with the key), the mild smell of damp, plainly presented bedroom, threads hanging from the edges of the towels, failing shower fitting and dreary breakfast that would follow...

One to avoid. It tarnished our whole experience of Caceres. Billed as three star and charging 116 euros for a double room in April, the fittings are cheap and nasty, either broken or stressed. The bin in the bathroom was broken, the toilet seat was wobbly , the headboards were not attached to the bed . There was a constant...

We didn't expect much when we booked into a three star hotel in Caceres, but we were touring round as we usually do and booking accommodation on the hoof. However, we needn't have worried, as Hotel Albarragena isa lovely little hotel near the centre of the old town. OK, so you can see where the extra star might be picked...

I loved my stay in Caceres. This hotel is beautiful and very well located in the old quarter. However, they did not have a safe in the room and the pastries available at breakfast were stale. It lists itself as four star, but needs to do a bit more work. I would like to see coffee and tea facilities in...

A delightful hotel within the old city within easy walking distance of many historic buildings and churches. One major problem is that this hotel doesn't have car parking and the receptionist had to give us a map showing the nearest secure public garage, about 1-2 km away. I had to use my sat/nav to find it and then use it...
