Our 2 nights at Chhatra Sagar in October were idyllic and peaceful – and like no other experience we’ve had in India. The tented camp situated on a dam (built by the owners’ great grandfather) overlooks a placid lake surrounded by lush vegetation was a delight from the moment we arrived. The tents are incredibly comfortable, attractively furnished and spacious... More

An enchanting spot for relaxation away from the noise and bustle of an indian holiday. The welcome and service couldnt be bettered - it really is as if you are a family friend. The food is excellent, the tents a delight and the view over the lake just lovely. A great walk around the lake with lots of bird life... More

It is a difficult place to get to but once there totally worth it. The view is one of the best I have seen. The tented bedrooms are charming with a view; the food some of the best I have tasted yet in India, all grown or produced locally. The farmland and village tour gave us a unique insight into... We were recommended to stay here by some friends who visit regularly. We specifically altered our itinerary to incorporate Chhatra Sagar, wondering if the travel would be worth it. From the moment we arrived it exceeded all expectations. Staying here is like being a guest in the home of very special hosts. The food is extraordinary- a wonderful exposition of... More

This place is really unusual! I fell in love with it the first time I went a few years ago. I've just been back and want to share it with everyone! This camp is serene, peaceful, charming, efficient and so tastefully decorated I want my bedroom at home to look like the tent I stayed in!!! When I say tent,... More

Chhatra Sagar is extraordinary. This was a highlight of our trip. We went there because so many others said the same thing, but that is no exaggeration. If you are looking for some quiet, some peace, something unique, something in the countryside, Chhatra Sagar will provide that and many other things. We were greeted like royalty and treated to lime... More

Loved it! The accommodation was great and they took great care of us with excellent food and unlimited drink. They took us on a nature walk providing us with a pair of binoculars each and they took a telescope so we could all have an even closer look at the birds. The village and farm tour was fascinating and no-one... More

Chattra Sagar is an absolute oasis in the small community of Nimaj that I had the great pleasure of visiting with my father. It's a family-run business that is a crucial part of the Nimaj community. Chattra was a wonderful experience - staff were incredibly hospitable and friendly and you really felt looked after. The rooms were beautiful artisan tents... More

No temples, no palaces, no forts........just beautiful countryside, wonderful tents, delicious meals, stars in the night sky, superb hosts and glorious peace! Book two nights, one would just be a frustration. Our nature walk was perfect and our trip around the farm and village was the most interesting and informative time we spent in India. Sundowners were delightful. This was... More

My wife and I had two nights here and wish we had booked a week. Brothers Nandi and Harsh and cousin Raj run the operation and our experience was very memorable. The staff were attentive and the food the best during our three week stay in India. We had a wonderful trip to the local village to see aspects of... More
