I stayed at the Hotel Antares for a week (August 2024). The structure looks good. Nice and clean room, with sea view, hairdryer, fridge, all efficient but very noisy, you hear everything that happens in the adjacent rooms, not to mention the screaming and squawking at 6:45 in the morning of children left alone to run through the corridors, (but you know, the real problem is parents not children). As soon as we arrive at the hotel the treasure hunt begins, in this case the treasure is a parking space. A hotel that boasts 4 stars with numerous rooms, must have its own parking, so you find yourself having to drag your suitcases for meters or having to pay for a parking space at € 10 per day in the parking agreement that is not in a convenient location.
I state that I did not use the pools, I can only say that there was always confusion, I prefer the sea. To reach the beach there are two elevators, not always working that in the heat turn into real ovens and another km to walk under the scorching sun. There are two beaches affiliated with the Hotel, Maniel and Tropicana, in both, especially the second, the sea from the sunbed you could look at it with binoculars, because they make guests of the Antares sit from the SEVENTH row to climb and the beach is large... I do not claim the first row, but we pay the club card so I consider it an unacceptable penalty, not to mention the fact that on the day of Check-out you do not have a sunbed on the beach, my complaints about it, at reception I was told that I could only stay in the pool..... I travel 200 km to stay at the sea, I do not find it right, considering the fact that the first day check-in is carried out from 3 pm, you lose two days at sea. It is something that in other villages and hotels had never happened to me.
As for the food, plentiful and varied; I had problems only one day with fresh pasta, which evidently was not so "fresh", because I found a worm on my plate and I pointed it out to the meter of the room.
Entertainment, in the evening absent altogether, in 7 days only a boring game night, during the day do some activities in the pool, then in the evening only piano bar, drink liquor and play cards .. Pension... Fortunately Letojanni and the beautiful Taormina were always a great alternative to spend a pleasant evening. I read great reviews on their page, then I realized that many of the unseemly ones are deleted by themselves, but I wonder if the people so enthusiastic have method of comparison with other hotel-villages.
In the end you adapt to everything and the week has passed anyway but I do not recommend the hotel for those who want to enjoy a beach holiday or for those who just want to relax.

The structure consists of 3 attached complexes. If you end up at Olympus you should know that you will stay in an old and poorly maintained room, such as air conditioner filters that emit a musty smell or detached skirting boards or sockets torn from the wall, and things like that, but nothing terrifying at the bottom. For quamto concerns the cleaning of the rooms in my opinion are few in staff and then to hurry leave the room not really clean. See dust under used beds or glasses left there for the next day. But maybe if you happen to the terraces or all Antares you will do better as the rooms have been renovated.
Positive note regarding the staff everything was kind and courteous, starting from the reception to switch from cooks to waiters and everyone.
Another positive note the buffet eating that was plentiful and really good, not the usual mass eating, also because it was cooked on site at the time in front of them.
As for the animation was minimally intrusive and entertaining. Of course there are far superior teams, but it is to be appreciated that the boys are committed to giving their best.
Another very positive note is the view that can be admired from the structure facing south on the beautiful Taormina reachable in 5 minutes by car, and on the seafront with Letojanni beach reachable on foot.
But unfortunately the known pains come. I do not recommend to those who have a stroller or those who want to walk a little. It's all done by stairs obviously with elevators. Being a structured hotel with floors you have to go up to the second to eat, to the fourth for the pool and if you happen to the lookout there are rooms even at -3 and so on. And here maybe if you find yourself getting up a little later it is a continuous ups and downs and you have eaten a day.
In conclusion it is a positive experience but to be done once and only once, as there is much better around.

The hotel is in a good location close to the beach. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly (especially Angelo, Stefano and the tall guy in the restaurant), on the arrival got upgraded as our original room was only for 2 people not 3 for some reason but the room was excellent. Large terrace, quiet and plenty of storage and sea views. The positives: the views from all around the hotel especially the walk to the main pool, absolutely breathtaking, the food at dinner was good for all inclusive, most of the staff are lovely, the beach was ok with 2 free sunbeds. Rooms spacious and clean. Negatives: the lifts got no air con and take for ever, we started using the steps next to them on the way down, freezing shower by the pool which no one uses before entering the pool, smoking allowed everywhere, other Italian guests are very rude with jumping the queue, lots of kids running around the restaurant which makes getting safely to your seat is a bit of a challenge, we got used to it but could be irritating for older guests, on few occasions we waited in a queue and an older Italian woman with short bleached hair got between us no excuse me or saying anything and started taking videos of all the dishes! Bizarre behaviour Lol, breakfast is boring every day just horrible bacon and scrambled eggs , would be nice to have something else maybe fried eggs for a change? No one ever had the boiled eggs so why bother. The pool is nice but closes too early, the music is too loud but the reps are lovely and entertaining after few days we started to learn the songs( bomba, bomba ) lol , we loved the fact that you can’t leave the towel s so after lunch you get the chance to get a decent subbed, this is the first hotel which implements no sunbeds hugging. Lack of cutlery in the restaurant and when asked for knife was told finished, learned to go for meals early or it’s hard to get a table, cutlery or a deserts before they get destroyed, the big cakes should be cut into slices by staff as the guests absolutely destroy them by trying to cut with blunt knife. The resort is a bit run down not much to do, Taormina not walkable and not as nice as I thought. All in all we had a nice time, took a local boat trip etc, would not go inclusive again as it’s just not for us and would stay somewhere nearer the main attractions.

We booked this hotel for 9 days all-inclusive. From the moment we arrive, things have been going wrong. I have little to nothing good to mention about this hotel.
Day 1 we arrive around 23:00 due to delays. In the hotel you get the key pushed into your hands and you have to figure it out yourself. Something to eat or drink was already no longer possible and it is said find something yourself in the city.
We have a 3 person room and got 2 bath towels and a balcony that you have to share with 2 other rooms.
Day 2 we went to the reception for information, there is no information provided to us at all.
Food is often lukewarm or cold, and is the same every day. The staff takes priority in the restaurant as at the elevator.
Except for exceptions.
At dinner, nothing is replenished 45 minutes before closing and everything is already cleaned.
Staff are constantly working on their phones throughout the hotel. If you want to ask them something, they won't make time for you and the phone is more important.
There is a shuttle from the hotel to the nearby village, it goes at 10:00 and then again at 15:30. You pay €2 per person for round trip. For the normal bus that runs all day you pay exactly the same.
For 7 days it's all self-service. There's no one at the bar. 10 minutes before closing, everything is already closed and you can no longer get anything.
All drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks and coffee are poured in plastic cups.
Filled a bottle myself and put it in the fridge in the room. So next day after the cleaning, this is thrown away.
Staff have been drinking alcohol behind the bar in their own clothes for the last 2 nights.
In short, you book 9 days all-inclusive of which 7 days is self-service. And may not fully use the all-inclusive for 2 days.
Last day you must check out between 10:00 and 10:30. Your all-inclusive strap will be cut immediately. We asked why because we were not picked up until 17:00. We got a new different color strap. We had to ask ourselves if we could still eat and drink that day. The answer you got is only yes.
Later that day we arrive downstairs at the restaurant is the restaurant closed and you have to go to the other hotel for lunch. Once there not clear where you can eat.
Snacks are available by the pool. You have to pay this yourself was mentioned.
At 14:15 we wanted to get a drink and it is said that all-inclusive is valid until 14:00. Everything you drink you have to pay for yourself afterwards.
For everyone I would highly recommend this hotel.

Staff is rude, except that of restaurant
Customers are allowed to smoke everywhere - inside hotel, inside elevators, hallways, rooms. No place at pool to relax without smokers - no designated area for smokers or nonsmoking.
Rooms are small, have to sit sideways on toilet so small is bathroom, you pay extra for see view but all rooms have see view and balcony, The REALLY small tv in room has only Italian channels.
On hottest day of trip (heat wave 37 degrees) aircon in room didnt work.
Food is the same EVERY day and very limited options, no imagination, nothing interesting and no coffee with dinner (for with desert), many desserts contained alcohol (with no warning) and kids were allowed to dish it up.
All-inclusive drinks should be available all day but is empty by 16:00, slushy machine has more black mold than slushy.
1 of the 2 elevators from beach to hotels (neither has fan or airflow) didn’t work for days.
Toiletries is only soap (that wasn’t refilled) - no shampoo or body lotion. Coffee in room wasn’t refilled daily.
Pool stank or urine and has sewage drain right next to side, should be 1,65m deep but was filled to less than 1,5m. Paving around pools were too hot to walk on barefoot and not enough beds and umbrellas.
Distance to town and Taormina has to say that there are only 1 store in town and Taormina is only reachable by vehicle - walking and cycling not possible due to roads width.
Excursion must be booked 3 days in advance and every excursion only happens once per week. (CitybySee excursion not recommended - boring, no time for photos, guide has no knowledge of excursion and her English is terrible)
I will not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy

Much too expensive for what the hotel offers: paid 2500€ for a week including flight from Luxembourg and transfer: that's 800€ too much.

The transfer made by luxair is a joke and thoroughly optimizes costs, we took 2h30 to get to the hotel (with a change of bus on the way) because there were so many stops before arriving (1h30 at back).

The hotel is very clean and the staff are super welcoming. These are the only positive points.

It takes 5 minutes to leave the hotel and between 5-10 minutes to get to the beach: it's ok for me. The hotel has an agreement with a bar which will provide relaxation/parasol

The rooms are a little dated. The French window opening onto the balcony could not close 100% (a small retaining hook is in place so the hotel knows it) therefore poor sound insulation: with the sometimes late evenings, especially with a child, it is complicated. The walls are made of cardboard and the daylight under the front door also lets in all the sounds of people passing by. The smoke detector just above the bed that flashes every second also adds a bit of ambiance. The bedding is of poor quality.

The buffet is in a huge, extremely noisy room. Depending on where you are placed, the air conditioning will blow on you. Since the hotel is all inclusive, the meal is buffet style. They will take away your plate to get rid of you at the slightest second of inattention (it's almost harassment, worse than in Chinese buffets). Sometimes by the time we serve dessert (which happened twice), the table is completely cleared and already assigned to the next customers.

Breakfast is the same every day: powdered fruit juice, powdered scrambled egg with grilled bacon, industrial pastries with lots of orange blossom, "day-old bread" or low quality, powdered coffee ( an Espresso machine in beans is a little hidden at the back): that's for the negative points

The lunch and dinner meals are very similar. The vegetables do not vary greatly but are good, the pasta very good, the fries also. The meat is a disaster and not worthy of a canteen.

You do not have free bottles of water in the room, you must take them from the minibar (€2 for 50cl) or buy them in stores, or go down to the ground floor to pour yourself a glass (refilling a bottle is prohibited).

There is no bar, only self-service, therefore no cocktails, and it is impossible to drink anything other than the 3 sodas and 5 alcohols offered (even at extra cost).

The snack offered after lunch: no pizza or burger as advertised, but the croissants left over from breakfast.

The hotel is comfortable and clean with a pleasant view or the sea. It has easy access to the beach and availability of local buses to Taormina and surrounding area.
I was disappointed to be charged a compulsory €20 for entertainment (absolutely awful piped music) and use of the facilities (beach). Although the two hotels are meant to share facilities, the swimming pool, sauna etc. require additional €20 to join and I can see nothing else worthy of note.
Also, make sure you have cash as beach towels,Sade key etc. is only taken in cash

My husband and I went to this hotel on a weekend in June, as a wedding gift and upon our arrival we found an imposing external structure, when we arrived in the room it was a total disappointment. To start with we found dirt behind the bed, dust on the bedside tables, by passing your hand you could collect all the dust possible. As for the bathroom, there was a dirty bin with crumbs scattered on the floor. Dusty corners. In the shower cubicle there was mold on the walls. Extremely uncomfortable 1930s mattresses. We then went to the reception where we explained the facts and the receptionist told us to clean the room, but when we returned it was true that the bedside tables had been cleaned but there was so much hair under the bed that it would make a wig. From a romantic weekend it turned into a nightmare.
PS: in the fridge we only found two bottles of water which out of spite we didn't even drink.

Disappointing to say the least :( we was looking forward to this visit, and straight of the bat was let down, the place is so run down and old, definitely need a refurb tried not to let this ruin our stay as we had seen photos and other reviews so was aware just not to this extent. anyway! we was in the main hotel on level 1, map given was very confusing at first, told us the times of food eating hours and where they would be, tell me why every day it took us a 15 minute journey to get from our hotel to the dining hall? we had to go to a completely different building at the top of the mountain for every single meal by the out door life which took forever and was so hot it was unpleasant. there was occasionally food in the same building we was staying but it was manager’s option if it was open or not so you are running around to see if the one closer to you is open to realise it isn’t and have to go the other, (it was open once in 7 days for us). we ate out most days despite paying all inclusive as the food was horrendous most days, the drinks were terrible and you had to do it your self, no service at all but! we got speaking to this family and they said when they arrived the first few days there was service and there was bar men making drinks !! so why did this change? we have no idea but none of the drinks was the “real” brands they said they were, coca cola etc. again pool situation same again 15 minute journey, yes there is 2 pools on each divide of hotel but the side we was on the pool was tiny and full of kids and right next to the kids club so was just full of kids not being watched by there parents. strange one , had to pay 5 euros per day, per person, to use the pools???? this on really confused me !! in all honesty there’s probably much worse i can say but at this point im bored and gutted that this hotel was so rubbish

When we arrived the Receptionists were very friendly and explained the various areas of the Hotel where to have lunch, dinner etc. Then we went up to the room and unfortunately it was not very clean: there were crumbs on the ground and dust on the head of the bed and on the bedside tables. The pools very nice and clean. We had lunch and dinner buffet and it was all very good but a bit repetitive (there were almost always the same things to eat), breakfast would give a 1 out of 5 because there were exclusively frozen croissants and a chocolate log as dessert, then yogurt only strawberry or white, milk and coffee makers, cappuccino etc, and as savory boiled/scrambled eggs, sausages, cold cuts (they looked like packaged ones), tomatoes and cucumbers .. The only thing I enjoyed at breakfast was the fresh orange juice. Overall it is a nice property kept clean (except the room) with spectacular views.

If on foot there is no option but to walk up hill some way and on your left there is an area from where you can get a funicular and walk through another hotel and stairs etc. Not good - do you really want to stay there? We were there in November - hotel manager and reception staff generally awful, we refused food - cold hot food, rotten fruit, food put out from previous meals.....our operator paid for us to est elsewhere! You are also miles from anywhere with no transport or bus system. It cost 40euros for a taxi to the nearest town. Rooms were ok but I would opt for somewhere else or you will be isolated. The hotel shop heavily overcharged for bottles of water. The last night they put on free drinks and snacks to apologise but it was too little too late. The hotel below was a building site which we had to walk through in the dark with our suitcases! Check it is finished. If you walk up the road to hotel you can go in a back entrance or taxi can take you up there - if!!!! They have opened the gate! I think the two hotels are owned by same people so assume if you walk you can still go through.
