Countryside peacefulness, safe environment, lots of activities for children, petting animals, reindeer, swimming and playing on the lake beach, going to a lake-side sauna, having a good night sleep, going to the zoo to see the snowpandas or just relaxing. You can choose the cosy traditional room or brand new hotel room.

We’ve stayed with my husband in Valkeisen loma for couple of nights in May and it was one of best places we’ve stayed at. Owners are really friendly, room looked cozy and modern, it was completely clean. There is a big territory, it was nice to go around for a walk, see animals, like sheep, horses and reindeers. We also had tasty breakfast, which had everything you need, like porridge, bread, cereal etc. After staying there, you have a feeling, that you really don’t want to leave this place and wish you could stay longer. It’s really peaceful and beautiful. We are definitely coming back here and we cannot wait for it! It was a great holiday trip indeed!

What a good surprise. We booked for two nights in this guest house. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He does everything to make your stay unforgettable : toys and sledges loaned to children, acces to the frozen lake, good breakfast. You just have to know that the sauna is not open in Winter time and they only serve breakfast (but there is a well-equipped kitchen)

Nice, authentic Finnish countryside accommodation with great breakfast. Just fantastic beachside where we also rented a private sauna for a couple hours. All kind of stuff for children and a good location to visit pandas 😉 Definitely recommended.

An excellent place to stay with a child or children. Our main event was the zoo, but for a three year old this is all you need. Animals to pet and other activities too. Our three year old was very pleased when he saw the trampoline. Breakfast was excellent. The network wasn’t very good, but that didn’t bother us.

Nice farm bed and breakfast with friendly staff. Excellent breakfast buffet. Homemade and warm rolls. Really nice sauna by lake. Lake in front of the sauna, sand bottom (exceptional nice) Lot of animals to watch, lambs, reindeer, cats and dogs. Lot of mosquitoes, but it is just natural…

Don't expect a hotel and you'll be fine. You'll get a taste of Finnish country-side, with some farm animals and pets around the house. Staff is friendly, and if you haven't experienced the sauna by lake or deer spotting before, it is probably worth it..

Lovely atmosphere, at least in summer. Farm animals around. In the new house the rooms are nice and cosy. Breakfast somewhat basic yet enough. Staff/owners friendly, yet busy in the high season. Would visit again if in the neighbourhood.

Idyllic, farmhouse-like B&B with friendly keepers and animals on site. Very child friendly, super clean and cozy rooms. Small walk to sauna and beach. Basic breakfast. Buy the food bag for the reindeers, and get some for therapy While you’re here. :)
The only minus is the lack of something to eat. Make a pit stop at ABC Ähtäri on your way because the small kitchen area and the bonfire/grill areas are in your use.

This place is as good for children as they come. One cannot ask for more toys. There are toys outside and inside in a cosy playroom. We did not have a cottage of our own but the room was OK. Breakfast is good and Ähtäri Zoo is nearby. There is a sauna and a good beach. The restaurant is only open when pre-booked and the nearest restaurant is a bit far away. As I have a bad back the beds were a bit too hard for my liking. Otherwise we loved this place.
