Kolding Hotel Apartmetns is 84 architecturally designed hotel apartments situated in the center of Kolding with the Royal Castle Museum Koldinghus and Lakeshore on one side, and the town's cozy latin quarter on the other. We offer a wonderful environment for everyone, regardless of whether you prefer to stay by the lake, the courtyard or the street.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We stayed here two nights on the way from Amsterdam to Copenhagen for a visit to Lego house. The rooms are spacious and the location is fantastic. The breakfast was decent though extra. It’s good for families to spread out and enjoy the space for a price very similar to a hotel room but you get two bedrooms and a spacious lounge. One recommendation would be to choose a room facing the lake better scenery and quieter. Remember to choose a lower floor if you have a lot of luggage because there’s no elevator and you have to haul it up the spiral staircases. Also just within walking distance of the property there are lots of restaurants to Queen little cobble Street overall very good

Our family has stayed at Kolding Hotel Apartments for extended periods of time 6 times when visiting family. We have always enjoyed our stay.
On the plus side, the location is perfect with easy access to shops and most importantly for us the waterpark. The The apartment layout makes longer stays enjoyable families with children. The kids room and especially the bunk bed are always popular with our daughter. The living room setup is very nice as well. The Wifi is strong even with several devices online. And the front desk staff is always very polite and helpful.
On the minus side, the bathroom and master bed room are due for an upgrade (as mentioned earlier we have visited 6 times over about as many years) to make them more modern. Although the heated floor in the bathroom is quite nice in the winter.
The kitchen and dining room is okay and makes for an okay workspace as well. The parking is also okay although it was a bit disappointing on our most recent visit to learn they start charging for it.
Overall it is two thumbs up

We stayed for 4 nights as a family in a 3 bedroom apartment. The double is two twins and the other rooms are bunks. Booked accommodation through a booking site and parking was included. our apartment was right next to car park and on ground floor but this did not disturb our stay.
Lounge and kitchen diner is all glass but rooms have blinds for privacy and sun screen when needed. quite warm in morning but there are plenty of windows and door vents to keep temperature comfortable.
safe in main bedroom. heated floor in shower room.
we used local supermarket for food and visited legoland and koldinghos during our stay. had a day wandering around shops in town centre.

The rooms were heated like a sauna, very heavy and damp inside climate. My watch read +23C upon arrival, yet no sun, so that seems a bit non environment friendly. An explanation revealed itself in the evening, as the teil floor crawled with Silverfish or bristletails, yet we stayed on the second floor.
Unfortunate acoustics and the large panoramic windows resulted in poor sleep, you can ears drop on conversations from the bar guests and jump in bed when the early birds are slamming their car doors in the morning.
The wifi connection was of exceptionally fluctuating quality. In periods it was impossible to even open an email.
Kitchen was well stocked, and the utensils, pots and pans were in good conditions, contrary to what you’re often faced with. But the fan was mounted ridiculously low on the wall so you had to almost sit down to be able to flip you egg over in the pan. Also, quite annoying that the fan was broken and could not be turned off.
Speaking of broken stuff. The shower head could not hang on the wall, as the wall mount was ripped off the wall. An easy fix, yet not done, and quite irritating when five people wanted to take a quick shower in the morning.
Access to pool, is true enough. Yet, the entire city have access to this public pool which is placed outside the hotel area, so this is false advertisement and yet another reason for not choosing this hotel should you ever be in the area.

I would highly recommend to stay away. There was multiple issues and the staff did not even apologise or offer any assistance to rectify the problems. Issuers included, lots of hair in the sink on arrival. Broken glasses left on the shelf and dirty floors. The beds are unsafe and feel like you are going too fall off (not good for children, however you can ask for bars so would recommend this)
We were kept up all night by noisy neighbours staying in the apartment below at 1am. We eventually phoned night security after trying to use the phone provided (which didn’t work) we had to use our own phone (Costs us money to do so) and it took them 30 mins to arrive.
All we asked for was a extra hour to check out so we could catch up on sleep. Very disappointed.
On a positive the beds are very comfy.

The reception would have given you another apartment if you had contacted them after arrival, or they would have send the cleaning to do your room again. We took the penthouse, and indicated to have a quiet place if possible as we were travelling with a young toddler. Upon arrival we found the penthouse to be super hot inside, the top floor even worse. The blinds on the top floor where electric and took ages to scroll up and down, as well to open the electric windows. The view wasn't bad, but not as close as we expected to the water. To our surprise we found the dishwasher also full, it seems to be normal that the next guest cleans it out. The beds were ok and the place was clean. Towels were in good amounts available. The reception was also fair enough, it was nice they had some beverages available. Breakfast was rather minimal. What I don't understand is that they charged me to pay breakfast again when checking out, even though I had paid it when booking the penthouse; the receptionist kept insisting, unfortunatly we were in a hurry and I couldn't discuss further. But the worst of all is the street noise !! The two bedrooms were not usable during the night, you could hear pedestrians, cars with music , garbage vans, everything the whole night - we could not sleep! At least they could have replied to us from the beginning that the penthouse bedrooms are street side and will not be quiet as we had requested, we would have booked elsewhere!

We put 2 large fans in the apartment, and there are a balcony were you can open the doors and windows. Regarding noise from the street, the Penthouse is placed on the 3rd floor and the bedrooms are placed to the street. We will reconsider if we schould inform about this in the discription of the apartment.

We spent NewYear's Eve here, 3 nights in total, the firework display on the lake was fantastic and right outside the apartments, so not far to walk to the lake.
Everything was perfect, the parking is a great asset but the guests should be physically shown the area that does not belong to Kolding to avoid a fine!
Kolding is good place to stay, The apartments are in the centre of Kolding, lots of restaurants and shops and supermarkets. Really is a beautiful town and very safe. Kolding is within easy reach to Arrhus and Odense. Both are an hour away and well worth visiting. Absolutely loved the idea of being able to borrow what you have forgotten from reception. (HDMI cable was very useful for us). The reception is very helpful, Heidi the manager was particularly kind and very responsive and great customer service.
Although we did not have a buffet breakfast, it looks great and there is a coffee machine where you can purchase drinks. We have already recommended friends and family to make this part of a holiday when visiting Copenhagen/Denmark. This was a nice end to our holiday.

Really a pleasant stay - very clean and well organized hotel apartments. The breakfast was really delicious with organic butter and different healthy shots. Will stay there if we go back to Kolding. If you choose a room to the steet please be prepare for some party street noise (the hotel provides ear plugs for same reason)

Situated on the brink of the Castle Lake, the apartments are cozy and nice, and the space is being put to good use. The service is kind and efficient, and the apartment was clean and tidy upon our arrival. We were only there for one night, but almost wished we could stay for another. It is a short walk to the town centre, where we had an excellent dinner. Be sure to read the recommendations from the hotel about discount offers on meals in nearby restaurants. Close parking was cheap and available.

Overall a great stay! The apartment was nicely sized and offered us (and our son) a bit of privacy. Great location, within walking distance of the castle, restaurants, and the lake. Surprisingly well appointed in terms of games, toys, a cafe, shop for wine and snacks, and discount coupons for local attractions. Helpful and friendly staff.
Added bonus, it’s across the parking lot from a great ice cream shop.
Based on recommendations from other reviews we did select a non-street view unit, but the outside noise was still pretty loud. But that is my only real criticism, overall we really enjoyed our stay.
It’s about 30 minutes from Billund and convenient for all Lego attractions. I’d recommend allowing extra driving time though, as we did run into quite a bit of traffic. Totally worth it though, given the price point and amenities.
