Dropped in for a late lunch with our two children. Made to feel welcome and served promptly. This is a lovely country pub with a lovely open fire. The food is generous and well priced. Some very good beers and a reasonable choice of wines.

Myself, my husband, and our dog! recently stayed at The Bat and Ball Pub for a one night stay, whilst visiting friends in Oxford. What a lovely, cosy, village pub this is, with very friendly and accommodating staff too! We arrived around 5.00pm, had no problem parking in the pubs free car park, and although the bar was rather busy,...

Dear StoatyUK, Many thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us here at the Bat and Ball, and I am incredibly pleased to hear how thrilled you were with everything. Allowing dogs in both the pub area and our rooms is very important to us, considering we are all dog owners ourselves; we love spoiling them! We...

A hidden gem in the oxfordshire countryside - Away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford but only 20min drive into the city centre. Stayed for one night in one of the first floor bedrooms (Not to be advised if you struggle with mobility - spiral staircase), had all the amenities and clean throughout - slightly on the small side...

We visited The Bat and Ball for a Sunday lunch in February. It is local to us and we have visited many times before and it has always been fine. Unfortunately the food and service was so appalling that we will not be returning again. There were only about 5 options actually available (from a sizeable menu), the rest were...

Here is a little gem - bijou rooms and yummy food accompanied by village ambience and so helpful staff and caring folk for whom one felt nothing was to much trouble. A delightful place altogether. Look out for smallness of room and winding staircase and say please not if not your preference.

Stayed in a small double 1st Floor room ("Grace" - all 7 rooms are named after cricketers), with ensuite shower room. Comfortable bed and good shower. Small fairly high window onto the street but not a problem if you'r not staying in the room during the day. Very small car park but free parking on the village street. The pub...

We stayed one night - were made to feel very welcome, not just by staff but by customers (regulars?) too. Enjoyed a really nice meal - tasty, hot, nicely presented, attentive waitress. Room was small but comfortable & pleasantly furnished. We had to leave before breakfast time on Saturday morning - so we were offered a tray with cereal, fruit,...
