We loved the hosts, the breakfast, the view and had a nice room with a balcony overlooking the Braeberry river valley. The hosts are a practical and plain spoken German- Canadian couple and their daughter. We enjoyed meeting other guests as well. They make a great home-made bread.

The manager was disrespectful and rude. tried to charge us double. (tried charging us for 2 rooms, when my husband and i CLEARLY stayed in ONE.) threw receipt at us. I will NEVER stay here again, and I urge you not to also. Too bad I cant give them ZERO stars. one is too much

I did not have a reservation when I got there, for a wedding, and after a lukewarm greeting I was offered a three bedroom suite. I was solo, so I had to nix that idea, the manager was looking for a little extra revenue, I guess. The guests for the wedding had to sit on rickety benches, and whatever else... More

My husband and I were looking for a hotel close to Banff National Park and Alexa Chalet Hotel came up on Booking.com! We booked this hotel thinking it would be close by to Banff and we were quite surprised that it was over 175 km away!! This hotel is in BC not Alberta! This is something that Booking.com needs to... We were just passing through, so only spent one night here. Mary Ann & Rainer- a delightful German couple- were attentive hosts-- and this despite the fact they were housing over 20 firefighters who were in the area due to a local fire. The room was comfortable with great views of the mountains & River; look for the osprey nest... More

We stayed in the honeymoon cabin for two nights. Bed is very uncomfortable, the tub runs out of hot water before it fills, shower barely fits one person, coffee pot took forever to brew, refrigerator was a tiny little one on the floor in the corner. Hot buffet breakfast was a joke. Toast and frozen waffles were the only hot... More

If you are looking for a true Canadian experience based in the Rockies without the army of tourists, and tripping over other families; look no further. The Timber Inn was everything and more that my family was looking for. It was a huge bonus to not have to worry about supper. I had a different area in mind when booking,... More

We came to stay on our honeymoon - we got the honeymoon suite, at an off season rate of $450. The room looked nice, the log bed, jacuzzi tub, and wood burning fireplace. But after a while we realized that half alive ants were coming from somewhere. We took the firewood out of the room, because we thought that may... More

My husband and I stayed here two nights for our honeymoon - recommended by the Golden BC information centre. the staff are friendly. We stayed in the jacuzzi suite. Breakfast included in the stay. It's a good location between radium & golden.
