An incredibly beautiful spot, perfect for a wedding. Not really committed to the B&B concept during the week. Very little hospitality for a mid-week, off-season guest. Walls are paper-thin and breakfast is just OK (a bit salty, too). That said, I'm glad I stayed this one time. next overnight on the island is likely to be elsewhere. Wifi is spotty.

We just attended a lovely wedding on the west lawn of Sullivan House, which looked out over New Harbor and a gorgeous sunset. The reception was held in a large tent near the main house, reserved for the wedding party. There was plenty of room for parking. The catered dinner was delicious. We didn't spend the night, though the main... More

The Sullivan House is a very beautiful B&B that has some great views from the wraparound porch of New Harbor. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful with everything we needed. The inside of the house has amazing ancient maps of the different countries and provinces of Ireland that give it the Irish charm! The rooms are a little snug... More

Sullivan House has absolutely the best location on Block Island if you want peace, quiet, spectacular views and easy access to a truly great beach. We've been coming here for years and have found it the perfect place to decompress. You can walk to several good restaurants (great seafood, of course) in 15 minutes, or bike or drive to them... We've stayed at The Sullivan House since it opened as a B&B. It's one of Block Island's historic houses and we'd been admiring it for years. The ground floor is clad in beach stones, and there's a wraparound porch with wonderful views: Block Island Sound to the east, and the boats of New Harbor to the west. There's always a... More

We stayed in the GMB Suite for my daughters wedding. The setting was amazing, the accommodations were very poor. I have been in the travel business for 30 years so I was not expecting a Ritz experience. I was expecting nice rural look, views as advertised, helpful staff and well kept rooms. None of those were to be had. The... More

We pride ourselves on top-notch customer service, coupled with our beautiful location. My family and I decided to take a very last minute trip to the Island. I booked the Sullivan House just days before our trip and was very lucky to have found a room. I had read that the views were amazing from the Inn and once I arrived, my breathe was taken away. Although the Inn is about a... More

We just got back from the Sullivan House and cannot use any other words except AMAZING !! We went mid-week to get our car over on the ferry and back but as soon as you pull up to the house it is the most amazing view on the island by far! No wonder they have so many weddings there- the... More

The experience was acceptable, but no more than that. The room itself was relatively clean, with some cobwebs and general dust. The sheets and towels were clean, but threadbare and itchy. The biggest problem is the lack of air flow in the rooms. Even with all the windows open, and the window above the door to the hallway, the air... More

I used to go to BI by yacht when I was about 18-20 years old, stayed at Paine's Dock back then. I'm over 50 now...I have always loved and admired The Sullivan House for its pristine location perched high on a hill over looking the ocean from the front and the bay (and Paine's Marina) from the back.
