This was our first time on the island and our first experience staying at an inn and Neal and his girls went above and beyond to make us feel at home We traveled to the island for a family wedding and a large group of us stayed at old town inn we loved it so much we extended our stay! Breakfast was made fresh every morning and homemade muffins and juice for snacks the inn is super clean and updated we loved sitting by the fire in the cozy sitting room playing games and hanging out we will definitely return to the inn for our next family vacation
Wow, this place is truly a gem! So glad I stumbled upon it. While it's not exactly in town, it has so many other benefits. To start, the rooms are large and beautifully decorated/newly renovated. We loved the contemporary/beach decor. Thankfully, it's NOT a stuffy Victorian B & B. We were so comfortable there from the start. The common spaces were bright, tasteful and spacious. We loved the outdoor fire pit (there are actually 2), gazebo, the corn hole games, delicious breakfasts out on the deck overlooking the expansive yard, stargazing from the Adirondack chairs, the list goes on and on. Neal was such a wonderful host, too! Ok, so the location...it's much more quiet than it would be staying in town. There's ample parking, and many of the guests bring their cars. We brought our bicycles instead, and loved that we embarked on this super fun adventure. We're in our late 50's and are pretty good cyclists, so it was a perfect choice. Contrary to popular belief, Block Island isn't flat, so if you're thinking of tooling around on a rental bike, maybe you should rethink that plan. However, it's only about mile walk to town and there are plenty of cabs (Ubers, maybe?) to take you to wherever you want to go. In fact, even though we had our bikes, we walked to town for dinner each night (didn't want to drink and pedal). I truly hope that we'll return to Block Island again. We had never been there, and it was absolutely lovely. We would definitely plan to stay at the Old Town Inn again!…
As a wedding photographer who is constantly traveling for work, I've had my share of good and bad experiences all across the country. My wife and children (3 and 1) stayed at the Old Town Inn for the weekend, as I had a wedding on Block Island. From arrival to departure, Neal and his family showed us nothing but the utmost attention and answered every question we had about restaurants and local activities very honestly. I will be back to Block Island for two weddings next year and will definitely be planning my trip around staying back at the inn. 10/10 recommend
I highly recommend the Old Town Inn! We stayed with our 2 year old and 2 month old in the Scotch Beach room. The room was beautifully updated and there was plenty of space for a pack and play and bassinet. The pullout couch will definitely come in handy when our kids are older. Neal with very welcoming and super responsive by emails. The girl who greeted us at breakfast was also wonderful. Breakfast was delicious and the property was beautiful. Our 2 year old loved running around the yard and checking out the hammocks. Such a great place to relax and enjoy the island.
Beautifully decorated common room with refrigerators for guests to use makes a perfect space for relaxing. Rooms are very spacious and super quiet. Bathrooms are modern and updated. Breakfast is included and it was delicious (and different!) both days. Make sure to use the outside shower during your stay.
Celebrated my 50th birthday and our wedding anniversary! Married at the Southeast Lighthouse many moons ago. Neal and Mike were so gracious and welcoming! They have done an outstanding job renovating the inn. We stayed in the Mansion Beach room. Highly recommend it! I loved all the stunning interior design touches. The room was bright and cozy. Breakfast was delicious. Neal was so kind. I was under the weather the first morning, so he brought my breakfast up to our room. Their back deck and large yard are relaxing and quiet under the stars. Can’t wait to go back. We had beautiful weather for mid May and all the beach roses were in bloom! You can’t beat Block Island for a perfect spring getaway even if we did have to travel across the country to ge to my favorite little island! Thank you Neal and Mike! Thinking about heading to BI… don’t hesitate book your stay at the Old Town Inn. You deserve it!…
This is our second time in Block Island but the first time staying at the Old Town Inn. It was totally amazing!! The inn is perfectly located in the center of the island, making it easy to get to the ferry area and the new harbor. We loved being away from the crowds! The property includes a beautiful huge yard with multiple seating areas to enjoy after a day of biking around the island. The inside of the inn is clean and beautifully decorated; restful and airy! We loved hanging out there after being out all day. Neil and Mike are wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome. They served a delicious breakfast each morning that started us off with the fuel we needed to set off on our island adventures! We will definitely be back to stay at the Old Town Inn!! It is a hidden gem!!…
We’ve been visiting BI for many many years, but had never stayed at the OTI…until last weekend when 6 friends and family visited for a family event. The inn is cozy, well decorated, and so comfortable. We enjoyed the back deck and back yard and slept like babies. The owners were really lovely hosts. We will definitely be back!
My boyfriend Dan and I have loved this place both times we've visited! Last summer, my boyfriend surprised me with a couple days in Block Island for my birthday, so this year we naturally had to go back for my birthday again! We did a three day stay (two nights) in the Black Rock room. This place is all about the little touches - some muffins and orange juice tucked away for when you might get hungry for a snack during the day. A homemade breakfast first thing in the morning. A wet bar with wine glasses and coffee for whenever you need. A cozy room that feels like home. Games out in the yard. Hammocks tucked around if you want to curl up with a book. This spot is perfect if you're looking to enjoy / see Block but get away from the "hustle/bustle" right off the ferry (or the craziness of Ballards!). We rented bikes upon arrival and just spent a few days exploring the island, saw a few baby seals, and enjoyed the area. Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back!…
As someone who is from a big city (and can be judgmental of other locations at times), this was an amazing experience for me that I would recommend to everyone! If you have never been to a B&B before, Old Town Inn (OTI) should be your first experience at one! As it was my first time at a B&B, I can honestly say that I have received more hospitality from Neal and Mike (Hosts) than I have ever received at any hotel or resort. In the same way, if you have been to a B&B before, you will want to add this one to your list! My boyfriend and I traveled here for 5 nights during off-season and had an amazing and immersive experience on Block Island - where we learned more about Neal and Mikes' stories, connected with locals, biked around (with OTI's bikes), and relaxed. The property is beautiful; this is a great place to get away from busy life and re-center yourself. I cannot stress enough how much value you get for your money at OTI. If you were not sure about booking yet, also know that Neal drove us to/from our ferry on our arrival/departure days, breakfast is great and cooked to your preference, and because we were the only booking at the time, our room was even upgraded at no extra charge! I hope to come back again in the future. A place I will share with family and friends!…
