Stayed for a second time this year (and 2nd year in a row) at the Water St Inn. My suggestion is that if you can get the king room, go for it, the extra space makes a difference - unless you're really not spending any time in the room, or looking for comforts other than an place to sleep &... My wife and I stayed here over 4th of July weekend by accident. We originally booked an apartment in the Ocean Avenue apartments through Block Island reservations. The unit (#1) was very nice but the company had rented out the other three units to a group of 20 year olds who decided to literally have a keg party upstairs. Our... More

The hotel I stayed in was called Waterstreet Suites. I made the reservation through blockislandreservations.com. It was advertised as being an air conditioned suite, with two bedrooms and a living room with a pull out sofa or futon. I booked two rooms. When I arrived I saw that there was a portable air conditioner in the main room. The bedroom... More

I stayed at the Water Street, requesting Room #3, for the second time. Although there are signs of wear, particularly in the bathroom, it is still a great choice. The Inn has no reception area, no check in, no phones. Check in takes place at a neighboring hotel. Since my last visit, the tv was upgraded, which was great, and... More

I almost didn't want to give away this secret, but since this hotel was renovated last year, the rooms are awesome. We have been staying on Block Island for almost 10 years and you have to know what you're getting when staying on the island. Most hotels are dated, rustic, chic with older features but it's part of the charm.... More

Old (turn of the century) boarding house. Rooms are awful (really bad beds, even worse pillows, floors slope 15 degrees, window didn't open--occupied by a huge, noisy A/C unit), but it did have a small fridge and organic toiletries. Location is right "downtown," across the street from the ferry. Noisy at night, though, being directly above a restaurant/bar and in... More

Spend your money at the other hotels such as the Hendrickson House, Spring house, Ashley House etc. The management here is beyond terrible! We had rented here and our room was half of the size of the other rooms. Non working TV and fan, BLACK mold resulting in feeling ill, no closets or dresser, not clean in fact beyond dirty,... More

The rooms were comfortable, clean and right on the main road, across from the ferry. We had a fridge and coffee maker in our room. The beds were comfortable and there is air conditioning. There is a place to store your luggage before check in and after check out (which is great). The only downfall (which wasn't a big deal... More

My husband & I stayed for 2 nights recently; great location, very clean... needs new mattress desperately! Would stay again but would not choose room facing water - too noisy in a.m. - fork lifts and ferry noises.... and had heavy footed guests above - would choose room on top floor facing back of building.

I should have been more wary when they force you to make a reservation for a 2 night minimum. I originally knew it would be tough to make it to the island on Friday night, but didn't realize that the island can become impossible to get to with fog, as the planes were all cancelled, and the weather from Boston... Dear Guest, Thanks for you recent stay with us. We understand that you do not agree with our policy of requiring two nights for your weekend stay here on Block Island. You did however, agree to this policy at the time of booking as well as our cancellation policy. You were not "forced" to reserve with us. This is more... More
