The location of the Bellevue House (10 minute walk from pier) is it's greatest asset. We also thought our room "the teddington" was charming, the staff was friendly and the breakfast buffet was above average. That said, we found it hard to justify paying the rate we did for some very basic amenities. The air conditioning went out several times... More

We stayed in the Northeast room for two nights during early September. The room is relatively small - king sized bed and dresser are the only furnishings - but has a beautiful view of the harbor and the sea. It has a shared bathroom down the hall, which was sometimes occupied. The associated breakfast was a good continental - home... More

We stayed at the Teddington room for Labor Day weekend & had a wonderful time. The staff is very sweet & accommodating and the grounds are beautiful & homey. Our room had all you need - a private bathroom, a newly redone room, AC, and a comfy bed. It's also a great location and is a short 5 minute walk... More

To be fair, I have to explain that I don't "get" Block Island. Yes, it is beautiful. And they are trying to not be as stuffy as Nantucket and those other fancy New England resorts. But if it is so "down to earth", why is it so unbelievably expensive? At $400 a night, our room was nothing special. If I... More

Our stay was full of issues. It was supposed to be 6 of us staying. They lost one of the reservations and therefore our family had to stay at another hotel down the road. Then when we got there we had booked 3 rooms and we were told we would share 2 bathrooms. Well there was only one bathroom and... More

My family and I went to Block Island on a quick two night getaway. We stayed in the Windrose House's Master Suite. It was just perfect for us. Our daughter stayed in the first room with the trundle bed that could easily sleep two. It also featured a microwave, refrigerator and coffee machine. We where in the master with a... More

I loved the old fashioned quality of this hotel my grandparents (and great- grandparents!) might have stayed in, back when they were my age. We had views of the sea from every room, and the bed was nice and large. We woke up with the sun rising over the sea each morning, and enjoyed the sea air from our 3... More

We've been spending a week each Summer at The Bellevue House for many years. We have always stayed in one of the apartments so that friends and family can join us. We always find Cariona and her staff to be wonderful, helpful and welcoming. If there every have been any problems, they have always been dealt with promptly. It's a... More

Stayed at the Cottage Sweet Cottage for a delightful week of rest and relaxation. The location is perfect for walking to town or just lounging outside with the friendliest cat. Staff was friendly and attentive and clean towels delivered daily. A perfect week.

The Hanna Marie room in the Bellevue House is a perfect room for a couple's getaway. It was freshly redone. Sitting just off the front porch you can pop out to an Adirondack chair and read or just enjoy the Ocean Breeze and view. It is a quiet location up the hill from town. A very short walk to everything.... More

Block Island Accommodations is a magnificent collection of Bed & Breakfast, rental homes, and apartments on Block Island, RI, offering beautiful hilltop lodging and accommodations. Located just up High St and off Center Rd, you will find gracious hospitality, superior service, and comfort in a meadow-like setting that recalls Block Island's farming tradition. Boating, fishing, and kayaking are all just a few minutes walk from our inns and homes. We are open May through October. Our homes are all conveniently located via both car and foot from the ferry dock. Our grounds are one of the best places on the island to just relax. Sit back in our Adirondack chairs, grill up lunch, and enjoy looking over the ocean, watching planes take off from this island's only airport. Most of our accommodations are only a short walk to town where you will find the shops, restaurants, movie theatre, beach, as well as the best island nightlife. There is so much to do and see throughout the summer months, from shopping, hiking, sailing, boating, parasailing, lighthouse tours, cruises, and fishing charters, that our accommodations offer a great central location for couples and families alike. ... more   less
