Setting: Scenic park setting, peaceful, nice views. Plenty of parking. Staff: Reception staff all good, v friendly. Bar/ waiting staff poor, had to hunt them down to order drink and food, switch off noisy TV, pay bill - though their manager more switched on. Food not great. 6 am noise of vacuum cleaner outside my bedroom, odd as no evidence... More

I stayed here with colleagues on a business trip, so I guess my expectations may have been lower than if I'd payed for it myself. The hotel is in nice grounds and sited well away from the road. Speaking of the road, this appears to be part of the commuter belt so the road (Milton Road) can be busy at... More

Getting checked in was difficult, there was no sign of a receptionist when I arrived at about 9pm so I called the hotel in the hope that someone would appear but the call went to answerphone. Twice. Eventually someone arrived and I was checked in. I was told I had been ugpraded to a suite which is always a nice... More

Its an ok hotel, but not more than that. Price compared to other hotel in the area is high and not worth what you are getting. Thin walls in the groundfloor rooms. So you hear your neighbour coughing or turning over in the bed... Breakfast was very small not many healthy alternatives. Fresh fruit for the youghurt plate would have... More

The people at the hotel were all highly professional and friendly. The wedding costs were very competitive indeed. We got a lot for our money. The location was excellent. So if the day is sunny, there are beautiful garden areas to be. If it rains, there is the barn and the restaurant to shelter in. The hotel is friendly and... More

We stayed for one night on 28th August while my girls went to the Reading festival. The hotel itself is stunning and the rooms are lovely. The hotel is refurbishing it's rooms and we were allocated room 21. When we first walked into the room it smelt clean and newly painted, however after being in there for a few hours... More

We visited Cantley on Tuesday to celebrate my mums 70th with the girls from work. It was amazing! The afternoon tea was delicious and plenty of it and the service was excellent! I visited the hotel in the morning to drop off a birthday cake and balloon and to pay in advance for a bottle of Prosecco to have with... More

My husband and I got married at Cantley house back in August 2015 and it was amazing! We couldn't have asked for more. Angie was a brilliant wedding planner and everything on the day went so smoothly and we didn't have to worry about a thing. We had regular contact leading up to the wedding day and it was all... What's good is very very good. What's bad is awful, so a real mixed bag. The good. Hotel is set in nice grounds and from what I've seen, is well kept. Fantastic room (superior double), and very comfortable. The restaurant is exceptionally good, and the a la Carte menu really is brilliant. Staff are incredibly friendly, and you feel like... More

Stayed here with family for one night when visiting the area. We booked two double rooms and whist one was amazing and other was below par. They also charge £20 for a cot which I think is ludicrous! Afternoon tea and breakfast were underwhelming.
