We arrived 3pm to a very unwelcoming reception from the man. We're told that check in was 5pm. Don't think that was mentioned on the web site. Although our confirmation stated that. We were able to check in to a very old smelly family room for the two,of us. Think it smelt of cigarettes although No Smoking signs were everywhere.... More

Comfortable room ground floor as I'm disabled tv, kettle with supplies, ensuite wet room which was ideal. Breakfast was lovey staff were very friendly if your looking for luxury this isn't for you but if you want comfort and friendly staff and a ample breakfast for a reasonable price you can't go far wrong with this hotel. Staff extremely helpful, room clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and plenty of it. Free parking, free WiFi, tea and coffee making facilities and colour tv. Single rooms are at the top of the building but as soon as the lady saw my walking stick she upgraded me to a ground floor room.

We had to pay our bill before even seeing the room! I'm so glad we were only there for the one night, we had booked two rooms next to each other, but ended up on separate floors. There was neither curtains nor blinds in the bathroom so we had to hang a towel up at the window. The wardrobe absolutely... More

Although I had been assured there was parking for disabled, it was unmarked and used by the hotel owner and taxi owner! I was able to park in the general car park but had to climb about 8 steep steps to get to main entrance. We had to wait some time for the door to be answered to allow us... More

I couldn't really complain with the service of the staff at this place because it was excellent the room had everything that was advertised as well as an extra bed. It was a bit hard to access our room because it had its own door around the side and up some steps at the side of the building. Good over... More

Got to say the service and room were discussing!! On arrival the only member of staff around was a cleaner who informed me I'd already paid and been charged a fee for using card all though I'd been informed beforehand that payments would be taken on the day and had already with drawn cash. Never saw another member of staff.... More

I booked the hotel a few days in advance and on the day I notified the hotel and let them on the phone I will be arriving at 11pm in which they responded positively and told me to contact them when I get there. Upon arrival I tried to contact them, no one answered the phone. The mobile number on... More

I stayed one night at the hotel, having made the booking on the morning of my arrival date. It was all very hectic for me as as I got a short notice to be in St Helens the next day early in the morning and didn't want to risk being stuck in traffic on M6. Communication with the hotel was... More

When I arrived at this Guest House on the 22nd February 2016 I must say I was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews on here. My room was clean and cosy, wide screen TV worked fab, tea and coffee replenished every day. I stayed 4 nights and was even quite sad to leave. If I have to go... More
