A unique country house hotel in Surrey Woodlands Park Hotel in Surrey, near Leatherhead and Cobham, was originally commissioned by English industrialist William Bryant, son of the founder of the match company Bryant and May. Built in 1885, the house was a modern marvel and one of the first in the UK to have electric light. Over a century on, the house remains as impressive as ever. Situated near to Cobham and within easy access of London, this 57 bedroom hotel is set in landscaped grounds and gardens, making our hotel one of the most perfect wedding venues in Surrey. Offering a range of classic and executive bedrooms and suites, Woodlands Park has a choice of bedrooms to suit everyone. It has two great restaurants: the wood panelled Oak Room and the more contemporary Bensons Restaurant. The hotel also boasts excellent conference facilities as well as being the perfect training and meeting venue in Surrey. I am delighted to welcome you to Woodlands Park

We had booked our afternoon tea a month ago & requested a vegan option then so when there, having chased after 2 pots of tea and a 45 minute wait, to be told it was due to sorting the vegan option, we found disappointing. Then, the non vegan sandwiches, oh my goodness, the fillings had been stolen as were so meagre, we were unsure on the flavours! We chose to sit in front of the fire so had a lovely setting and the Irish lass who looked after us initially was a delight. The scones were amazing & a surprise card & birthday plate with chocolate was a lovely touch so thank you, just fill your sandwiches!

The hotel has all the charm of the original building and decor fits in line with it. We stayed in the Mistress Suite which had everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable and king sized. The room had plenty of space for our luggage and chairs to sit on. Bathroom came with toiletries. It was everything described on their website. We ate in the hotel twice and the food is superb. The breakfast options are the best I’ve ever had before. All your continental choices plus smoothie and salmon. A wide variety of cooked options as well; the poached eggs on smashed avocado toast was delicious. We also had afternoon tea before leaving. Excellent sandwiches and cake. The staff at this hotel are a real credit and have exemplary service. They are attentive but without being over the top. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge area and playing cards and having drinks. We would have liked for the fireplace to have been lit but upon request were advised it only occurs certain nights of the week. Overall we were extremely impressed with our stay and have already booked another next month.

Took my mum for afternoon tea to celebrate her 80th birthday. The staff were very attentive, going over and above to ensure she felt special. They catered for her vegetarian diet without drama and the sandwiches, scones, cakes and tea were plentiful, beautifully presented and delicous - all for a very reasonable price. We couldn't manage it all and were given a lovely box to take the rest home. Hope to return again soon. Thank you.

A lovely three night stay. The room was immaculate two bottles of mineral water every day plus biscuits. Bathroom had everything provided and an very deep bath. Thank goodness for the hand rails. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff including the kitchen, Very friendly without being overfamiliar . A good range of choices at breakfast. With small numbers it is served to your table which means every thing is cooked to order. This does mean service is slow. A lovely afternoon tea with family. The box they give you to take away what you cannot manage has to be seen to be believed.

We attended a wedding, the bride arrived and there were no staff around to direct her and her bridesmaids. The wedding guests (around 70) were gathered in reception and were given no instructions by any member of staff to proceed to the ceremony room, no one knew where to go and the bride was left waiting outside. We went into the ceremony and again not a member of staff in sight, the music didn’t work and again no one around to ask. Someone opened the wrong door at the end of the ceremony and then all the guests had to return to the ceremony room and exit a different way. The food was tasty and hot At a private dining breakfast the following morning, there were not enough places for the bridal part to sit, so the bride and groom left the breakfast room and sat outside while their guests had breakfast! Again no one around to re lay places as people left, a queue of people waiting for breakfast, no cutlery, no milk, tea in coffee pots, cold coffee, no butter and dirty plates piled high in the middle of the table. Again - no- one around! This is a nice hotel, good reception staff, it was clean and the food was good. The lack of senior staff for an event was AWFUL! No one seemed to care or even know what was going on. It is loud at night as the doors bang shut on the rooms.

We took my mother in law for an afternoon tea with my 2yr old daughter. The staff were so professional and kind. They were lovely to my daughter and gave her a drawing set to play with whilst we had a fabulous afternoon tea with excellent cakes. The hotel is a gorgeous old building and the garden outside is lovely on a clear autumnal day. Really enjoyed.

Feeling a little guilty that our 30th wedding anniversary fell on the day of the Queens funeral we headed off to celebrate on a happy day for us but a sad day for the country. Unsure what to expect we had a fabulous time; I can’t recommend this highly enough for a special celebration - delicious sandwiches catered to our dietary requirements, two scones each straight from the oven with excellent strawberry conserve and plenty of cream, stunning cakes and a tiny raspberry panacotta. They also presented us with a special anniversary decoration made when they heard we were celebrating our anniversary. Once finished we were able to walk around the gardens and beautiful hotel; the glass ceiling is spectacular. Special thanks to Kirk and the young lady with the Irish accent and dark curly French plaits for their wonderful and attentive hospitality. Here’s to the next 30 years - maybe we will be back to celebrate 60 years of marriage!

We would like to thank Woodlands Park Hotel for an absolutely fantastic wedding reception. Cheyenne, our wedding coordinator was brilliant in the lead up to the day; great communication and always so helpful. On the day itself l, all the staff were so helpful and made sure we all had a wonderful time. Many of our guests commented how impressed they were with the food. We would definitely recommend Woodlands Park Hotel for a wedding reception and look forward to visiting in the future. Thank you!!

I have just attended the woodland ways bushcraft and survival day foraging course in Oxford with Ian, Richard and Bill. As usual the day was packed with information as we gathered the plants that we would cook later over the camp fire. We were shown how to prep pigeons and guided to cook an amazing 2 course meal, as well as following up with a discussion on foraging and the law, knife law and plenty of guidance around books and resources for us to continue our foraging journey. This is so much more than a "foraging course" - the instructors were amazing and led the day brilliantly, with friendly humour, patience, and in depth knowledge imparted with the clear passion they had for not only the subject, but in making sure we had the best experience. We had a great day in wonderful company and beautiful surroundings having learned so much. Thank you guys for all your hard work - we will be back for the spring one!

We stayed just the one night to enjoy the hotel and have a nice meal, Woodlands Park is our ‘local’ Handpicked hotel and whilst we’ve dined many times we had never stayed. As we have booked a 3 night festive break we felt it was time to actually dip our toe in the water and stay beforehand. Woodlands Park is a traditional beautiful hotel and very welcoming. Our stay was a mother-daughter stay and we both agreed we have made the right choice in booking a festive break here. We had a twin bed executive room on the 2nd floor, as there was a wedding I had requested a ‘quiet’ room and that was exactly what we had. The room was immaculately clean, the beds comfortable (as always with Handpicked hotels as they use Hypnos beds) and we both had the best night’s sleep we’d had in a long while. We dined in the Oak Room Restaurant for dinner, my meal was customised as I follow a gluten free diet as was my mother’s as she is a plain eater. It is so refreshing to enjoy a good meal in beautiful surroundings that is served exactly how we requested. Breakfast was as equally enjoyable with a good variety on offer. Final mention must be made about the staff, everyone was polite, helpful and genuinely interested in their guests to ensure they were enjoying their stay. Thank you Woodlands Park, we look forward to spending Christmas with you.
