We have used The Raven hotel many times in the past few months as the Sunday carvery is always great value and a great selection. This is my first review for this venue as today the staff went above and beyond. Although today was billed as a live music event the carvery went ahead as planned. The food was superb... More

I book this hotel for 1 night due to it being close to Rockingham speedway. what I did not realise is that it is the local pub for the housing estate that its on. the bar has been modernised so I assumed that the room would be ok, after checking in I walk into a dank stairwell that looked like... Stayed in the Pod for the novelty factor. Overpriced at £60, considering the 'hotel' is located in the middle of a housing estate. Dodgy back entrance with a horrid smell & broken glass. Bed not made, duvet on floor. Cobweb with spider in bathroom. Tea/coffee/milk sachets looked like they had been there for some time. Could do with a lick... More

£60 for a "deluxe double" room, which turns out to be a tiny little pod you can barely move in with the most disgusting view of the back of a building which looks like it's about to fall down. Came down in the morning with no one around to serve. Had to ask the cleaner and she took 15mins to... More

I have reviewed The Raven before just over a year ago for a truly excellent Sunday Carvery. This time we went on a Thursday lunchtime and the three of us had different meals. My beef madras was just ok. The other two meals were not finished and described as very ordinary. Thought the prices for our meals were a little... More

I usually come here with the family for a Sunday lunch and it is extremely good value and is of a good quality. As well as there being a large children's area out the back which is good for our kids. However today we have had the Hand Battered Mushrooms which were soggy in grease as well as the homemade... More

Good morning, many thanks for your feedback from your meal on Friday 3rd June 2016. As you may be aware we recently started a new '2 For 1' Fish N' Chips offer on Friday night. This has been very popular but unfortunately our current home made beer batter is just not coping when we are very busy. We have spoken... More

Arrived late so key was left out for me. Room was reasonable size with comfy bed. Advertised with WiFi but no response from server ( was not just me as I found out in the morning ). Booked late so shared bathroom , on the evening smelt like someone had been smoking in it. The shower in the morning was... More
