The hostel is just perfectly made for an island like Malta. It is a house in St. Julian's with big and very cozy common areas. The staff, the owner, and the volunteers were very friendly. It is not just a job for them, they really seem to enjoy working at the hostel, and they make a lot of effort to make your stay as good as possible. Other than that, Once you find the hostel, you can understand that it has a very convenient location. (There is a bus stop near, a supermarket, Balluta Bay is 15 min walk), beds were very comfy, showers were clean, wifi worked well.

I needed to stop over one day in Malta before sailing to Sicily, I arrived at 8am after a very early flight, Penny welcomed me with a smile and a coffee and said please relax and ASAP we will turn guests around to get you checked in. With that Penny was off, the whole Hostel was cleaned and prepared top to bottom, I was very Impressed and my Job for the last 5 years has been Guest services to over 2000 family's, I just hope I present myself as good as Penny. Although I only took a nap during the day, the bed was comfortable and of course fresh sheets. Very short wait for the Bathroom with perfect hot water, I did read other reviews mentioning they could not get in the Bathroom, this is most likely because most boat trips etc start around 10.30 and check out guests preparing to leave. Of course not everyone can use the Bathrooms at 930am. The whole feel of Boho was relaxed, safe and welcoming. We shall hopefully return to Malta later in October and on this visit we will definately stay at Boho. Thankyou again to Penny and her staff for doing such a great job. Ps doe's the Cat answer to Cat or Steven 😎

I have been living in Boho for more than three months, and saying goodbye to this place and its people is one of the hardest things I have experienced so far. When I arrived to Malta I was stressed out, but Boho has the power to transform every negative thought, in positive energy. During these months I met too many incredible people, travellers, students, workers that shared a little piece of their life paths in this beautiful place, playing guitar, sharing a meal or admiring the nature around them. Some stayed for a long time, others for a few days, but everyone eventually fell in love with this house, which became immediately their home. I saw people coming back, after years spent around the world, too immerse in their busy lives, to find refuge in the silence of the garden and the peace of the hammocks. Once you are a Boho, you will always be a Boho. It’s a family which is enlarging every year, every day. That fills its dorms and rooms with new energies, new people, new stories. I will never stop thanking Penny, Amy, Jana, Olli, Daniel and every other person who lived, worked or just stopped by the hostel for their hospitality, kindness and love which gave me a whole new perspective in life. If you are searching for a place to switch off, to find friends you will have for a lifetime, to run away from the confusion of the world, I will always recommend to visit this home, and enjoy its indescribable Boho magic.

The staff are so welcoming at Boho and make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The gardens are a gorgeous little haven where you can chill and read a book and it's in walking distance to cafes, beaches and buses to travel all over the island. I met tons of other solo travellers from all over the world which was great. Definitely one of the best hostels I've stayed at!
