We stayed here for a week. No issues at all. Great air con. Lovely balcony. Beds were comfortable room was cleaned daily and fresh towels. We found the staff very friendly and helpful always a smile when you walked in. We used the pool a few times and the spa facilities. Only thing we missed was the bar being open but this was due to us being there out of season I believe. I’d definitely stay here again if we came back to this part of Malta. Would defo recommend.
Hi the George Urban Boutique Hotel is a good spot for exploring the local area of St Julians and the entire island of Malta. The Hotel itself was very nice with a lovely reception area and great rooftop pool. My room was spacious and well presented with room service attending every day.Not much of a view as its located in quite a built up area. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The only downside is its in an area which can be considered lively so be wary if its not your thing. Didn't bother me and my partner one bit. The area itself is going through a boom of construction like much of Malta so there a lot of cranes about, some of which are very close to the Hotel.
Very welcoming staff in the reception did a great job make my stay fabulous, especially I would like to recommend holy joy at the reception. she was very helpful and so professional. My room was very big, spotlessly clean with good air conditioning. Amazing roof top pool that wasnt very busy anytime I went, and friendly and helpful pool staff. Lots of restuaruants to chose from at the hotel nearby. Overall a fantastic hotel experience - one fo the best I have ever had. I will definitely come back. Thank you
It's well located in St Juliens. I checked in here for 4 nights. My junior suite was fine. Comfy bed, nice balcony and big bathroom. I needed a car parking space in the underground garage which was provided free of charge. There was a nice pool and bar on the roof. Staff were very helpful.
I was a little worried after reading reviews, however the hotel was clean and acceptable. The room could do with updating but had everything we needed. Staff were really friendly and on hand to help. There was a good selection at breakfast however, the hot food could do with being kept hotter. The hotel is currently surrounded by building sites so it’s not overly quiet during the day which does effect the rooftop pool experience. The pool bar tender was lovely and worked really hard, he could do with a extra pair of hands! I was worried that we were too close to the party part of the island but there was good sound proofing and we were a few streets away from the main strip. St Julian’s is lovely, Paceville is where you go if you want to party. Overall a good experience, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.…
Had great expectations, but we are rather disappointed. Upon arrival we noticed that the decorative pillows on the bed we so smudged and covered in make-up, we hardly dared to pick em up and remove. Well, we just threw em off. Also found a stray curly hair on the pillow that certainly didn't match our hairdo. When we took a shower after all that traveling, a fake eye lash fell from one of the towels. Yuck, I guess. After freshing up we went to the reception and mentioned it all, and we got an apology. Fair enough. We are now 5 days into our vacation (yes we are still there) and found there's bird poo on the curtains (inside), and one of the tea spoons in the coffee set was completely covered in chocolate. For the record: we had a cup of tea.. Brought the spoon to reception and got a half hearted "oh..". Besides these incidents, the shower head is totally unsuitable for the water pressure: you have to snuggle up to the wall to shower. The filters in the AC need replacing according to the display, and the air coming out is rather moldy. Still unsure whether to report this, don't want ppl peeing in my suit case in revenge. The location is great for young folk, should be said. We do not really fit that demographic, but that is on us, could have done more research before booking. All in all, not impressed with the hotel, nor in how things are resolved. Would not recommend. Only 8 more nights.... …
When I wasn't allocated the junior suite I had requested, I was eventually allocated junior suite 501 as I had booked a room with a bathtub and been allocated a room without a bathtub. Room 501 is a very nice spacious room with a larger than normal bathroom (and with tub!), though the fittings are a bit tired and don't work well, It also has a good large patio with recliners, chairs, table, plants etc - not much of a view, but you can't expect good views in Paceville. I enjoyed my 2-week stay very much, though the room fell short on three counts: (1) It's a cold room (possibly because the building next door has been pulled down and is being redeveloped so the wall is now an external wall) and the heating struggled to keep the room warm enough on cold days. (2) the cleaning service was rather superficial (and was missed altogether on one day). (3) For some reason, the WIFI is spotty and unreliable in parts of the room and I had to sit either near the cold window or on the chair outside the room to get reliable WIFI. The front desk was very friendly and helpful throughout the stay and responded quickly when we asked for things to be done and maintenance responded quickly and effectively. All in all, an enjoyable stay.…
cleaning and maintenance are the worst I have ever seen anywhere in the world. We checked in to a room that was dirty it smelled and looked like you a basement room. Then we got transferred and charged another 15 euros to a room that was again NOT CLEAN. So the manager proposed we should get the superior suite on the top floor. When we got back we faced again a room that was not clean it was smelly the flowered o Lyn the balcony were all dead. The manager was sorry apparently again the room wasn’t checked before we got in so we got transferred to another room. The towels in the bath had holes. Hair was everywhere, spiders on the walls, broken lights by the bead. It’s hotels like the george urban that make Airbnb thrive. A definite no for this hotel. Oh and at the end we got a refund of 60 euros. After paying more than 200 hundred per ninth.…
Average hotel in back street in St Julian’s, the area was not what we expected, quite dirty and run down, much better suited to the younger generation, due to the amount of bars doings shots etc. Hotel is clean, but lacks any atmosphere, there is a bar but we never saw it open, would have been nice to have a drink before retiring for the night, breakfast is below average, croissants are stale. Staff are friendly and accommodated with room issues. Would we return, No !.
Great location and hotel service in central Malta. Front desk answered and helped me with issues of AC promptly (got a temporary bigger room to sleep overnight in since maintenace arrived the next day).Quiet and clean room which I stayed for 4 nights. Near to shopping, many restaurants and buses.
