OK for a couple of nights stay. There was no bar or restaurant available when we visited mid-week. Room clean and well presented, location is great, close to the beach and easy access to Sunderland city centre. Newcastle, Middlesbrough and South Shields within easy travelling distance. Good public transport available from the location.

We stayed here last year as my daughter was attending a swim meet, so when she attended the same meet this year we stayed at the Pullman again. That's where the similarities end. Had no issues whatsoever last year but this year was a different encounter entirely. Room freezing cold Hot water took forever to come on Bar closed No...

So the room was in a building just behind the main building. It had it's own front door and then steps upstairs to the room itself. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I'm never sure about staying somewhere where there isn't a 24 hour reception but it worked out fine. The room itself was reasonably comfortable although there was...

I held my 50th birthday party at the Pullman and needed to accommodate 28 guests for the weekend. Nothing was too much trouble for Seamus and his team - special shout out to Demi for her hard work all weekend! Myself and my guests all felt comfortable, looked after and anything we needed was sorted out. Due to redevelopment of...

After a lovely visit to the carriages of the Pullman for afternoon tea at the time of the Sunderland illuminations my kind family organised my 50th birthday party aboard the Orient Express carriage. The carriage is so beautiful with stunning views of the sea. The tables were beautifully set and arranged with gorgeous vintage china. It was a really special...

Stayed at the hotel with a frienf when going to see Beyoncé at the stadium of light. Pretty easy to find. The staff were nice, the girl at the bar Britney I think her name was, was especially helpful. Gave us names of several taxi numbers which proved to be a life saver. Room was pretty standard, a little musty...

Terrible..... Bathroom lighting unacceptable.. couldn't even shave properly.. toilet wouldn't flush. Mattress uncomfortable. Room smelled musky. Will not use again. £50 per night!!!! Not worth the money. Had a better stay down the road for £35 a night with breakfast included!

We booked this last minute after our hotel was cancelled ... It cost £115.70 for 1 night! For that price I expected a bit of luxury! We arrived and the location is beautiful, the promenade, beach and lighthouse! Indian and Italian both next door/across the road! The room was 'a room' ... Nothing luxury! Mis matching chairs, small TV and...

Unfortunately we hadn't read past the first couple of TripAdvisor reviews otherwise we might not have chosen this hotel. When we turned up we were quite shocked by the condition of the outside of the buildings which were dilapidated and run down. If we had not paid in advance and had we not spent all day travelling we would have...
