Really nice place with friendly staff and a lot of different activities for the kids. The pool was great for the kids. When it comes to vegan food they have a lot to learn. I stayed there 4 days, and with only 2-3 options when it comes to lunch- and dinner meny it's not very varied. For breakfast they had not any vegan cold cuts to put on the bread slice except from vegetables, jam and peanut butter. For vegetarian (or vegan) kids it's little options for lunch and dinner. Since we had given notice about foodpreferences in advance, I was expecting better vegan food.

Room 4/5 - spacious with balcony, double bed, shower (no bath). Bring your own shampoo - I generally don’t like the generic all in pne - hand, body, hair cleaner hotels provide. Bed 5/5 - comfy double bed. Plenty pillows, duvet. Clean and crisp sheets. Breakfast 5/5 - plenty of food. Good selection Dinner 4/5 - big portions. Delicious tho. Wine was a touch expensive. Great service. Ok kids menu - sausage, pasta, burger. Plenty of stuff to keep kids occupied - play area, cinema, pool (with slide, regular and baby pool), pool table, ping pong, bowling (must pay extra but worth it). Free Parking on site - underground garage. The hotel had a cool Norwegian antiques display/exhibit - lovely pieces on show, as well as Munch’s art pieces. Fab stay! Plenty of easy hikes in the area too.

We wanted a lodging with swimming pool to hike Hardangervida and Hellingskarvet. We have chance to arrive when the school reopens in Norway and so it was quiet. We had a suite in the "lodge" , in fact not in the principal building : large, clean, with a reserve on the size of the bathroom,...with the toilets in...(few hotels in Norway have toilets and bathroom separated...why ??). It was very quiet and the stores allow good nights... Breakfast was very good : lot of choices, good quality. Less enthusisatic on the diner : good main course(truit, reindear, elkburger...) but few option on the starters(only the crab is good and the day option when available : why offer it if it is sold out before the diner ??) and poor very poor desserts. Good choice of wine. Swimming pool and notably the schedule is very good : 6 am to 10 pm... Only guest's attitude is sometimes difficult to admit, notably when arriving in group and excited at the point to try even the children's corner... To recommand but an effort on starter(a simple green salad and a soup offered every evening) and dessert( you have some very good berries : why not to try some sorbets, pudding, creme brulee, crumble...? more than oreo cheesecake and soone...).

This was my first stay in Geilo and Vestlia Resort during summer – it will definitely not be the last. We stayed two nights in a large family lodge suite with 3 bedrooms, making a long trip across the country with three kids more enjoyable. We loved the mixing of traditional Norwegian wooden furniture with modern decoration, it made a nice and interesting atmosphere to the hotel. The pool area was great with a big water slide, and our kids also enjoyed the playroom. Next time we'll be sure to stay longer and bring bikes and stuff for outdoor activities. The family lodge suite was nicely decorated, spacious and fresh (the main bedroom could have used some more floor space, though), comfortable and well appointed with amenities like two smart-TVs, washing machine and tumbler, and a fully stacked kitchen with good equipment. We never cooked while being there, but I can imagine cooking any kind of meal without trouble. There were three bedrooms, where one of them had its own half floor with a smart-TV and sitting/gaming area – very popular with the kids. What really made our stay, though, was the lovely and attentive staff and tasty food in the restaurant. Even the food from the kids menu came out looking and tasting great. Breakfast was also good, with a nice selection of foods. Only negative is that prices are quite stiff. We ended up paying over 10k for two nights in a family lodge, and two evening meals with drinks. So I'll be looking out for offers and special deals in the future ;)

Nice and well equipped family resort for a lot of different sport activities. However, nothing for couples, as there are too many noisy families. Food okay, but nothing spectacular, and quite limited choice of menu. No English menu which was quite strange for an international guest.
