The room was cold. Nothing in the minibar - not even water. No phone. The electricity and the hair-dryer in the bathroom didn’t work. The shower drain in the first room we stayed in was clogged, which resulted in flood in the bathroom and we had to change room in middle oft the night. We had to pay 115 NOK to use the swimming facility at the hotel. It is free in all other hotels I have stayed at in Norway. Besides, with NOK 115, you can rather visit the public swimming pool in town. If you chose your room not to be cleaned, the hotel would donate money to UNICEFs work against human trafficking. The hotel should donate that money no matter you get your room cleaned or not. Because The hotel chain is owned by one of the richest ones in Norway - Petter Stordalen, he can afford it. The people at the reception were nice and helpful.

What a change! I had stayed at the hotel 10 years ago and they have made major improvements. The location is great by the river, the access is very easy, the lobby bar and 24hr snack shop are convenient and they even have a movie theater for rainy days. Only glitch for which the hotel has nothing to do with, we are in Norway and you can not relate to the cost of living at home!

We had been on a tour with Skibladner on Lake Mjosa and wanted to stay overnight for a good look at Gjovik this time. This hotel was convenient for parking our car, and close to Skibladner's quay. Our stay at Quality Hotel Strand was very good. Our room was spotlessly clean, and the size was fair. The toilet room with shower was a bit small, but we are not too big ourselves so we managed. Our double bed was comfortable with a somewhat soft mattress, almost like a waterbed. The breakfast next morning included all we wanted and even more. The lightly fried bacon was superb. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Top quality for a pleasant stay for the weekend. Always the best food and service. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and nice personal. Located in the middle of the finest town next to the biggest lake in Norway.

I stayed here with a friend and we booked a twin room. The room was tiny! The beds were pretty much touching and there was one small cupboard for clothes. There were no drawers for use. The room had little else in it bar a tiny table and seat. We had very little room to move around the beds let alone moving whilst someone else was there. The room was noisy and we could hear people talking from nearby. My bed had a very thin mattress on it and every night I woke up with the mattress hanging off the bed (we me along with it). The hotel did have a lovely bar on the roof with some lovely views. Although there was a choice of hot and cold food I did not eat much. I personally found the breakfast was mediocre. The hotel had a spa on the lower level and it looked lovely. A few of the others who also stayed here used it and said it was good.
