Stayed here for two days with my husband and we got a very nice spot for our tent. The facilities are perfect and toilets were cleaned every now and then. I would have given this place a 5 star if their toilets were placed not that far to the places were they allow campers to put up their tents. It's nonsense to put toilets to places close to those who have caravans/RV's..
Stayed here as part of a road trip to Norway and wasn't disappointed. we were staying in a campervan and the spots were right by the lake; which made it the perfect place to stay for the evening. The site is also very well equipped and the facilities were immaculate. Would definitely recommend this place to any travellers looking for a clean and hospitable place to stay.
What a friendly place, and what a nice location! The only thing this place is missing is a restaurant down by the lake, and a decent shop. We found a great spot for our caravan, with lakeside view. The new facilities are modern and fresh, and the bathrooms are huge and super comfortable. The manager was friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed the policy that we could stay as long as we wanted/just pay when you leave. No stress! We will return next year!
Really nice cabins! The small cabins (4 single beds) are very new and have a little kitchen and a refrigerator! They are very modern. The bathrooms and showers are very new and there are private bathrooms (with shower and a toilet in one big private room). Very friendly stuff and in walking distance to the city.
The camping is situated along the lake, although a lot of the caravans are there for a long stay there are also enough cabins and camping spots for a short stay. The new facility room is amazing, the kitchen/dining area has four cookers, multiple microwaves and ovens. Several tables and chairs allows families to have a comfortable dinner together. Later in the evening you can read a book or play cards. The people working and staying at the camping are very welcoming. The shower/toilet facilities are amazing, clean, big, warm. Definitely a great camping to stay in.
My daughter and I stayed here July 2012, did we ever luck out in discovering this hidden gem! There is a restaurant with a deck overlooking the campground and cabins, a beach, and all within walking distance to town (5-10 min)! You can drive right up to the cabins, or campgrounds. The campgrounds are right next door to the outdoor folk museum, which we spent a whole day exploring! We also took in the Jorn Hilme Folk Festival at the museum and even got in touch with some family! The staff speaks English really well (which we found all over Norway), so every day we tried one new item from the Norwegian menu and they happily translated for us! The cabin we stayed in was fully equipped, and I was ecstatic to find even a coffee pot! The linens were available extra for a small…
