Stayed Friday to Sunday in September 2021.

Arriving from the road and parking lot, the hotel looks like a grim conference area from the 70s. Luckily, once you get inside you realise that it is much fresher inside the common areas and on the opposite side towards the sea.

Our room was quiet inside and outside (but this were out of season). We heard that the hotel as some refurbished rooms. This one, a family room at the far north end, was not. On a positive not, it was large and clean – but everything was pretty worn down. Some roof spotlight didn’t work, the toilet flusher had mood swings, the TV didn’t support casting and the beds were not up to standard for the hotel’s price level. Including the door- and window frames, the hallway outside the room etc. – everything has seen better days.

The staff was very friendly, including the reception, restaurant and bar. They managed to make you feel very welcome and taken care of. The food was generally good and with a decent selection, although the buffet price level didn’t match the overall quality/selection.

The water park makes it a very convenient hotel when travelling with children, which we did (11 and 12 years), and it seems to be a good place to stay with activities for smaller kids as well. We stayed in September, but it seems to be a better summer spot, due to the proximity to the sea with outdoor areas and activities.

Travelling in Norway, you expect to be spending a bit more than you’d like, and here you will unfortunately feel that whatever you do. For the price level of the room/stay, you’d think that admission to the waterpark is free for hotel guests. Think again. If you want to use the air hockey or pool table – 20 kr pr. match. For a hotel with this profile, you’d expect something to be included. Also – the reception doesn’t provide coins, so you have to go to the nearby store to withdraw money. Fair enough – a shuffleboard in another area of the hotel is complimentary.

The buffet dinner is varied and well prepared, but also here the price level is too high, especially for the children. The bar may be where you have the most normal prices, but slightly high also here. Even the products bought in the reception area. 45 kr for a small bottle of water.

Free parking though, which is nice 😊

Looking beyond the feeling of “throwing money everywhere”, you’ll have a pleasant stay with presumably happy children at this hotel.

me and the family arrived on friday afternoon and were welcomed by a nice receptionist who informs about different activities throughout the weekend for children. we buy access to the water park all weekend. we get one family room which has 1 double bed and bunk bed. the room is nice, but it bears a little mark of and has been empty for some time due to the corona pandemic. a lot of dust on the surfaces. both dinner and breakfast buffet are good with nice service. water park is also very good . I Will visit again

This is a hotel that needs a serious facelift . It is an ok place for families with kids who want to spend their time in the water park but for a couple who just want to chill it is the wrong choice. The walking distance to Langesund is about 20 minutes. Lastly the noise from the seagulls at night can be pretty annoying and loud.

This place has probably seen the best of its time in the past. If staying during the summer be prepared to sweat since there is no Air Conditioning or suitable ventilation in the rooms to stay cool.
Hotel staff in the reception, be prepared for very long lines and little to no customer service.
Restaurant food is good, but the set-up was kind of strange. Be prepared to wait a long time for your drinks when eating dinner and no matter when you eat be prepared to have your plate collected very slowly. In some instances the staff was just stacking the used plates at tables where the guests have already left instead of removing them from the restaurant. It looked very bad.
For the "badeland", although the water in the pool area was a comfortable temperature. The water temperature in the shower area was only ice cold and ice cold. So prepare to ice bathe when taking showers before you enter the pool area and after.
The only positive was the activity for the kids and the Lollo and Bernie characters. If it wasn't for that I would have said the entire trip would have been a waste. Would be curious to see what this place would have been like when it was new or after it has been renovated.

We stayed for two nights and we were are a totalt of four people, where of two kids aged 4 and 6.

Ving had arranged entertainment at the hotel and there were a lot of hotel guests that had been rescheduled from the original vacation abroad. This made the hotel absolutely jam packed with guests.

Breakfast buffét was ok and they had a waffle station on the side, but variety and assortment was well below any other Quality Hotel I have stayed at. Evening buffét was a disgrace and actually identical both days we were there. The warm meat/fish options were nearly inedible. Although, there was some variation on the dessert table from one night to the other.

The pool and slide area was good fun, but well past its glory days, but the on site ice cream bar had an ok selection. The lunch bar in the pool area was a complete mess, not on behalf of the single employee working there doing her absolute best, but more on the ridiculous food offering and extremely low speed of delivery. Theee was only hamburger, toast and sausage to choose from. At times they had pizza, but they struggled with the dough. Customers were get ti g frustrated due to the time delay with their orders and for some reason they had no cold or ready made option, not even something simple as a salad or sandwich.

In conclusion, not worth it and far away from the standard you would expect at a Quality Hotel.

Great location with access to the see and an idyllic bathing area. The kids loved the swimming pools. Breakfast was ok, but less so in the so-called "swimming breakfast" served by the pool. Missed a good coffee during our whole stay. The rooms have tv and a kettle. We missed a fridge because it was so hot. The beds are good, but the high temperature in the room made it difficult to sleep. No air conditioning, only a small fan available, and the windows could only be opened a little. When the kids are too old to enjoy the hotels activities, we will go somewhere else.

Bathroom 125 per pers, in addition we had to rent bathrobes for 150 per pers. Bathing is intended only for families with children, nothing to spend money on for a couple without children, there is quite little space and high noise level. Grunt in the pool, no place to swim.

Dinner buffet is too expensive in relation to what you get, would have been quite okay if it cost 250-300kr. Parking should be free for hotel guests, it is a hard gravel place.

Bad air and warm in the room, all in all not worth the money.

Had a great trip here, as many times before. We think it's absolutely great to come here, with our 7-year-old boy. Experience it as a cozy hotel, not too fancy, absolutely perfect.
There is always delicious food to be had in the restaurants after the swimming day is over.
I think it's great that bathing guests have the opportunity in the morning to swim a little before other guests arrive.

Room downstairs with no view and poorly wifi-connection. The bunkbed had hard matresses, the wc would hardly flush. Breakfast was very limited and noisy. The waterpark had not been updated in 30 years (since my last visit) best suitable for small kids

Had booked a table in the restaurant (simple birthday celebration), and when we arrived, unfortunately our booking was not in order. It had not been registered. But it didn't matter, as we met a wonderful employee who was in charge of the restaurant this evening. She arranged everything promptly and in the best possible way :) Service was top notch, the food was all time (buffet) and delicious desserts. It was a very pleasant evening :) We would love to do this again. If there was something we were to note, it would have been that we perhaps missed chicken/turkey or similar as an option in the buffet.
