This is a lovely place to stay for a weekend, or even just one night as we did. The rooms and the pool area seems quite old, but cosy. The pool area is nice and warm. Breakfast was greit, and staff very friendly.

Hotel's Favorite
The hotel has a nice location, delicous breafast and dinner buffet! The staff is superb and the bar has also a lot of delicous drinks. It is also a perfect place for families with chidren with a great swimming pool facility. I personally let the fish take care of the swimming, but I am sure to be back next time visiting Langesund!

Stayed Friday to Sunday in September 2021. Arriving from the road and parking lot, the hotel looks like a grim conference area from the 70s. Luckily, once you get inside you realise that it is much fresher inside the common areas and on the opposite side towards the sea. Our room was quiet inside and outside (but this were out of season). We heard that the hotel as some refurbished rooms. This one, a family room at the far north end, was not. On a positive not, it was large and clean – but everything was pretty worn down. Some roof spotlight didn’t work, the toilet flusher had mood swings, the TV didn’t support casting and the beds were not up to standard for the hotel’s price level. Including the door- and window frames, the hallway outside the room etc. – everything has seen better days. The staff was very friendly, including the reception, restaurant and bar. They managed to make you feel very welcome and taken care of. The food was generally good and with a decent selection, although the buffet price level didn’t match the overall quality/selection. The water park makes it a very convenient hotel when travelling with children, which we did (11 and 12 years), and it seems to be a good place to stay with activities for smaller kids as well. We stayed in September, but it seems to be a better summer spot, due to the proximity to the sea with outdoor areas and activities. Travelling in Norway, you expect to be spending a bit more than you’d like, and here you will unfortunately feel that whatever you do. For the price level of the room/stay, you’d think that admission to the waterpark is free for hotel guests. Think again. If you want to use the air hockey or pool table – 20 kr pr. match. For a hotel with this profile, you’d expect something to be included. Also – the reception doesn’t provide coins, so you have to go to the nearby store to withdraw money. Fair enough – a shuffleboard in another area of the hotel is complimentary. The buffet dinner is varied and well prepared, but also here the price level is too high, especially for the children. The bar may be where you have the most normal prices, but slightly high also here. Even the products bought in the reception area. 45 kr for a small bottle of water. Free parking though, which is nice 😊 Looking beyond the feeling of “throwing money everywhere”, you’ll have a pleasant stay with presumably happy children at this hotel.

Great location with access to the see and an idyllic bathing area. The kids loved the swimming pools. Breakfast was ok, but less so in the so-called "swimming breakfast" served by the pool. Missed a good coffee during our whole stay. The rooms have tv and a kettle. We missed a fridge because it was so hot. The beds are good, but the high temperature in the room made it difficult to sleep. No air conditioning, only a small fan available, and the windows could only be opened a little. When the kids are too old to enjoy the hotels activities, we will go somewhere else.

Exhausted rooms without air conditioning. When you could not open the windows properly, it became so hot that sleeping was a challenge. Went from there reasonably tired after a couple of days. The food was good and the staff very friendly.

This place has probably seen the best of its time in the past. If staying during the summer be prepared to sweat since there is no Air Conditioning or suitable ventilation in the rooms to stay cool. Hotel staff in the reception, be prepared for very long lines and little to no customer service. Restaurant food is good, but the set-up was kind of strange. Be prepared to wait a long time for your drinks when eating dinner and no matter when you eat be prepared to have your plate collected very slowly. In some instances the staff was just stacking the used plates at tables where the guests have already left instead of removing them from the restaurant. It looked very bad. For the "badeland", although the water in the pool area was a comfortable temperature. The water temperature in the shower area was only ice cold and ice cold. So prepare to ice bathe when taking showers before you enter the pool area and after. The only positive was the activity for the kids and the Lollo and Bernie characters. If it wasn't for that I would have said the entire trip would have been a waste. Would be curious to see what this place would have been like when it was new or after it has been renovated.

me and the family arrived on friday afternoon and were welcomed by a nice receptionist who informs about different activities throughout the weekend for children. we buy access to the water park all weekend. we get one family room which has 1 double bed and bunk bed. the room is nice, but it bears a little mark of and has been empty for some time due to the corona pandemic. a lot of dust on the surfaces. both dinner and breakfast buffet are good with nice service. water park is also very good . I Will visit again

We stayed for two nights and we were are a totalt of four people, where of two kids aged 4 and 6. Ving had arranged entertainment at the hotel and there were a lot of hotel guests that had been rescheduled from the original vacation abroad. This made the hotel absolutely jam packed with guests. Breakfast buffét was ok and they had a waffle station on the side, but variety and assortment was well below any other Quality Hotel I have stayed at. Evening buffét was a disgrace and actually identical both days we were there. The warm meat/fish options were nearly inedible. Although, there was some variation on the dessert table from one night to the other. The pool and slide area was good fun, but well past its glory days, but the on site ice cream bar had an ok selection. The lunch bar in the pool area was a complete mess, not on behalf of the single employee working there doing her absolute best, but more on the ridiculous food offering and extremely low speed of delivery. Theee was only hamburger, toast and sausage to choose from. At times they had pizza, but they struggled with the dough. Customers were get ti g frustrated due to the time delay with their orders and for some reason they had no cold or ready made option, not even something simple as a salad or sandwich. In conclusion, not worth it and far away from the standard you would expect at a Quality Hotel.

The Hotel should easily earn 4+ grading. However a few kinks makes the "all over experience" an average 3. The hotel is really nice. Rooms are clean, spacious and though quite modest... still elegant. Staff is really accommodating, friendly and serviceminded. The swimming area is really well suited for both children and adults. The "Spa area" is not up to "par" though. I really like, however, how all rules and regulations are children friendly. Hotel is really well suited for families with children and it gives a real "resort" feeling. However... as it comes to breakfast there are a few "kinks". Obviously there are some "Corona measures"... but they seem quite futile as they tend to gather more people in stead of dispersing them. Also I question the logic where the "Ham-tray fork" is quite safe for everyone to share... whilst croissants and eggs must be served by a chef (Creating lo g lines). Bread is also safe for everyone to touch the same grip... and the breadrolls to be cut by common knife... Whilst bacon... God forbid... one should not touch the same serving spoon. :-) I feel for the poor serving staff getting all the frustrated customers. Also... where is the logic in needing to actually order warm food at the counter to actually get a plate. What happens if I only prefer ham/cheese sandwich? Quality of food suffers from corona measures... But I feel that if they have serving staff... fried eggs could at least be warm. Freshly made croissants where delicious. My challenge to hotel is to re-evaluate the corona measures. Either step it up to a point where they are not counter productive and creates high risk areas.... or just ditch them.... One measure I quite liked, though... was the "wait to be seated" option. Not very "corona friendly" as it creates another line-area in the midst of all lines... But really practical in an overcrowded area to not have to rush and race other guests to the table... following a time of "guarding your table as a hawk" while taking shifts of getting food. I like the practice... but as corona measure it is not doing much. Evening time restaurant not tested due to overly expensive menu. All in all... really nice hotel... good for children and families. Food... not good enough for the price level of the hotel. Price vs. Value... Were it not for the swim area (For which we still had to pay extra) we would not even consider this hotel. It is pricey and although nice... there is not enough there to defend such a price... (But I guess market decides... and it was all fully booked). Worth a visit if you have children...
