Hotel is situated near the town but almost in waste ground. Inside was a great improvement with lovely wildlife photos adorning the walls of the public area, The room was decent with a reasonable en-suite and was very comfortable. The buffet dinner was very good but had a small selection. The breakfast buffet was superb with some lovely fresh and... More

A warm, comfortable hotel with friendly helpful staff and wonderful food. Always juice, coffee, tea and biscuits available when you come in from the cold after bird watching in the harbour. . Fantastic scenery and waterfront. Would recommend highly.

Spent three nights here in early March 2016. Could not have asked for more - fantastic breakfasts and dinners and lovely refurbished rooms. What makes this place so special is the staff. Always friendly and helpful and willing to get that extra mile - e.g. putting out coffee for a our 4.45am departure on two consecutive mornings so we had a... More

...of providing comfortable, warm and pleasant accommodation in a remote part of Norway. Used as fall back Hotel when the Hurtigruten ferry cant make ssome of the small harbours. When this happens breakfast may run thin (as in our case).

We stayed at the Polar Hotel for one night last week after disembarking from the Hurtegruten at midnight. We arrived with the hotel closed down for the night but with the front door open and our room key left on the reception desk. Trust comes with the territory in this part of the world. Our room was fairly basic but... More

When travelling to arctic places you expect to pay premium prices and I understand the necessity of this and I have no qualms about recommending this hotel. It doesn't look great from outside and is positioned in a way that doesn't allow for any views of the harbour & fjord [a real missed opportunity] but it's easy to find and... More

Had a brief 1 night stop here as part of a northern finland and arctic Norway birding trip in early mar. Staff were very helpful and their was a continuous supply of free coffee available. Good food, clean warm rooms and comfortable beds. What more can you ask for

Arrived at midnight to a welcome note and room key left out in reception ready for our stay. Lovely room, big tv,comfy bed, slept like a log but up early as only there for a short stop-over en route to Kongsfjord. The hotel has recently been refurbished and both the reception area and the dining room have a spacious and... More

If you want to go slumming, this is the perfect spot for you! Why any one comes up with the idea to build a hotel in a mud hole is a mystery! I paid 1250 NOK (almost as much as at lovely Rica Ishavshotel in Tromsø) for a room that stank of mold, the porter didn't care about the curfew... More

We are travelling 2 weeks in Finnmark to Explorer it's wildlife and nature. This was the first time in Båtsfjord and this was the first hotel we have been served real fresh fish. All the employees were serviceminded. We will love to come back again combined with fishingtrip and bird watching.
