I have just spent a few days at Centro Ompio, taking part in an extraordinary seminar organised by the IFCC in Strasbourg.

An ideal location in my view… So much so, that I am planning to return there soon and am greatly looking forward to it.

Unlike the guest below, I feel that mastering access to this beautifully simple haven in the midst of the forest, overlooking lovely Lake Orta, is well within the reach of any true traveller taking a little time to look into the place ahead of time... Surely it is the relative seclusion of this location that ensures the blissful peace and quiet that reigns there.

Authentic and unspoilt, the place holds great beauty and energy, maintained by all those present. Without exception, I found the staff kind and caring; greeting their guests with a smile, treating them with respect and making them feel at ease. The vegetarian food was truly delicious and varied. How grand to just sit down by the pool enjoying it and admiring the amazing view.

Anna,
a very satisfied guest.

I was here for the third time and always returned with highest expectations, twds. lodging, food and surrounding. To be honest, I was never disappointed, in the contrary, the expectations were more then met, every time.
Lodging: I like the simple rooms with incredible view onto the lake and the garden in front. Short ways to the facilities and the pool, which is so nicely refreshing in the summer heat.
Food: the food is very tasty, simple and a lot, I always eat too much. They provide breakfast, lunch and dinner as buffet, with vegetables, salad, pasta and fruit. As vegetarian I am more then pleased, cos that's the way they cook here. NO MEATđź‘Ť.
Staff: all of them, the regulars, longtimers or the temporarily and newbies are so helpfull, nice and easy going. They are all interesting personalities from all over the world, it is so nice to talk to them and knowing to have them around.
Location: it is remote, that's what makes it unique. With a car no problem to find and get there. By train a bit more effort, but if you call in advance, they support you to get the travel organized from the train station up the hill.
Once again: thanks so much to the staff: Viramo for the delicious food. Micheal for the coffee and the talk at the bar. Katharina and Kaoli and all the other ones who really do everything to make the stay so enjoyable. GRAZIE MILLE A TUTTI!
CI VEDIAMO ALLA PROXIMA!

I was doing a retreat here last week and had a great time. Weather & food were great, friendly staff and a blissful, joyful and grounding nature energy. The infrastructure is rather basic but suitable. Seminar rooms are very beautiful; we worked in the Dome and the Pavilion rooms. And they have a huge outdoor pool, which we all used for our morning swims after meditation - best way to start the day! The team prepared a fire ceremony for us and I saw that they also do swetlodges. Food buffet was lovely, fresh and vegetarian food. Some produce come from their own organic gardens. We did lovely excursions to the waterfalls, mount mottarone and the unesco heritage site sacro monte. Orta village 10min away at the lakeside is straight out of a movie; stunning to have a gelato on the mainsquare.

What a place! My husband and I came to Centro as volunteers in the month of April and had the times of our lives. After traveling the globe for 8 months, we found rest and tranquility in the gorgeous hills of northern Italy. The walk up to Centro each day was beyond gorgeous, with views of the lake and so many beautiful flowers; what a breath of fresh air. The common areas and workshop buildings are stunning and create the perfect settings to meditate, practice yoga, play music, or feel the freedom to express yourself in anyway you choose. Thank you for the space to come and reset our minds, bodies, and souls, Centro d'Ompio

I stayed here for 4 weeks as part of Centro's Working Guest programme and it is definitely one of the most beautiful areas I've ever visited. Centro is about 1.5 hour's train ride out of Milan, situated overlooking the majestic Lake Orta. If you have spare time, you can take hikes, swim/paddle in the lake, practise yoga or other exercise in the dome, or relax by the pool and enjoy the surroundings. The food is served buffet-style, fully vegetarian and very tasty. There is also a Conad supermarket about a 15 minute walk away. It is really popular with groups who stay here for seminars and retreats. To the team at Centro, thanks for everything - I hope to be back someday soon :)
