I stayed for two nights at this hostel. I'd just come from Copenhagen and was going to hike and cycle in the Lake District. The hostel is very comfortable and clean. There's a kitchen, restaurant, laundry room, BBQ, basketball court, TV and lounge. I would say it's best suited to families, and the atmosphere was quite sterile. When I was...

Very friendly staff, relaxed family atmosphere with plenty of room for kids to run around. Only 10 minutes into town to enjoy the cafes and bars and all the canoeing and mountain biking you need is not far away either. I'd recommend a trip on the lakes on the Hjejlen steam boat, built in 1861 and still used today. Again,...

Second stay in Danhostel accommodation. Silkeborg Hostel is fantastically located. Easy walking distance from train station, town centre, and river boat pier. Great combination of functional rooms and other facilities. Good kitchen/dining room for self catering, fantastic garden on river with chairs and benches, volley ball court, sandpit. Also nice lounge to relax in (with piano). Only downside is rooms...

The location of this hostel couldn't be better, right by the river bank and only a short walk from the town centre. Rooms, however, are a different kettle of fish: they reek so much of smelly socks that we seriously contemplated checking out before time. Yuck.

It is located near riverside. In this city it is one of the few budget option for sleeping and for sure the best. Hostel is modern. It offers accomodation in dormitory and in private room with private or shared bathroom. In season it is crowded place so I recommend to book in advance. It is closed during winter time

This Danhostel is in a beautiful spot directly at the river. Rooms are basic, but mostly with (clean) en suite facilities. What really makes this hostel to one of the best in the country is its friendly staff, the “hyggelig” atmosphere in all common areas and, most of all, the fantastic breakfast (with home-made cinnamon buns and home-made bread!). My...

Danhostel is what the youth hostels have become in Denmark: Budget family hotels. This is fine since Denmark lack family budget hotels. Danhostel SIlkeborg has a great locaiton nice rooms, a nice kitchen for cooking you own food and good outside activities. Definitely the best hostels i stayed at in DK recently.

Wonderful location, clean rooms, great facilities and friendly staff! They provided us with lots of information about the region and were very friendly, letting us check in late at night, and even giving us free cookies! This is of course a Hostel, but we had our clean 4 person room to ourselves (bunk beds) with an en suite. They do...
