Firstly, hotel is of a good quality within price range. I've stayed in many Novotels and this one is very pleasant amongst others. Good open bar, nice restaurant and well located within the centre of the airport. If you are lucky enough (or pay additional) you get a good view of some of the planes moving about - really useful when the main reason you're in Paris is to take your father to the Paris Airshow. The rooms (I had two for reasons to be explained) are well decorated with separate shower room and toilet. Nice rainfall shower head. The slight negatives would be that the air conditioning isn't particularly strong especially where the windows cannot be opened. Opening the sofa bed tool a little understanding and the sheet for that bed was terrible and there was no duvet cover. But the sofa bed itself was very comfortable and quite big. The first night was a pleasant sleep and followed with a good breakfast. Later that afternoon I was particularly warm and slightly jaded and keen to get back and shower. As we were just making our way back I received an email asking for me to confirm that I was staying another night as there had been a system issue. I said I was and I was then guided to ask for "replacement keys" at reception. Upon arrival I asked for replacement keys and made my way to my room. Upon arrival at my room, the key didn't work. I asked my elderly father to wait whilst I went back down and got new keys. I asked at reception and was given another set of keys. I then made my way back up and found that the keys still didn't work. So I made my way back down again and spoke to reception. At this point they confirmed that somebody else had been given my room. MY ROOM WHICH CONTAINED MY POSSESSIONS. I asked if they could move the new guests and they said "no, they're in there". So the people remained in my room WITH MY POSSESSIONS. I was told that there was a problem with the Internet which affected their ability to view bookings. I am a Senior Manager within a large financial services company - believe me that I understand what IT issues can do. But I also understand that you HAVE TO have back up plans in place for these types of events. I find it difficult to believe that there isn't a central back up storage of all hotel room bookings and that a company of the size that Novotel is part of wouldn't have one and enable the hotel to call on that system immediately once system issued are known to identify bookings of more than one night. I find it additionally appalling that the mistake is laid on my shoulders and that the new guests remained with access to my room with my possessions even after they realised the error when they contacted me by email. Appalled. So I was given a new room and my father was separately being assisted in retrieving his belongings from the room. The new guests had stuffed our dirty laundry into his bag and my father was escorted to a new room and I followed. At this point I was still jaded and said I would check if everything was there when I got to the new room. The chap in reception gave me a free drinks voucher which I assumed would be one for me and my father. I'll return to that point. We were also given a supposed "upgrade" which only consisted of dressing gowns with cheap flip flops and a small number of soft drinks. The room was other wise exactly the same so not much of an upgrade. When we got to the room, I realised that many of my possessions (non-clothing) had not been given back by the new occupants of my room. I went to reception for the fourth time and was than escorted to my original room where I was invited to speak to the new guests. The new guests were not particularly honest and showed me the wardrobe where they had left my fathers bag and our clothes and said there was nothing else. I walked past the wardrobe and picked up 5 important items at which point the female guests chuckled most in sincerely as if caught out. They had clearly been through our possessions and had been trying to use those items that were left on the side. I didn't want to linger any further and left. I then returned to my new room and realised that the new guests had kept my toiletries. Quite why they would want some of the items such as a toothbrush I don't know, but I didn't want to engage with them again. So I returned to reception once more and asked for a tooth brush and paste to save me going to the original room again which the receptionist gave me. After a quick shower I then went to have a drink before my meal and it was at this point that I realised that the apology for the disruption and breach in security in allowing other guests access to my possessions was the value of ONE drink between myself and my father. Not even one drink each. The second evening and night was not pleasant and ruined as both I and my elderly father were concerned about the dishonesty of the new guests and which possessions of ours they might still have. A terrible and frustrated night's sleep for both of us. The staff are pleasant and I believe they probably tried their best but the processes for which they are armed with to resolve these types of situations are completely lacking. All of this could have been easily controlled had there been a back up plan to just call a central booking office the minute they realised they couldn't access bookings. A disturbing turn of events leading to a terrible and wasted nights sleep is not what I paid for. There was nobody in reception in the morning to speak to again (I had far too many interactions for such a short stay as it is) so we just left our keys and went on our way - we just wanted to leave. I have used Novotel often before for both business and leisure and this has been the worst experience compared to generally positive stays elsewhere. Insecure and unprepared.

Check-in staff are friendly and professional, process quite fast. Rooms are somewhat small, but work fine for an airport hotel. It's relatively convenient to the Roissypole train station and CDG itself if you take CDGVAL (not the shuttle bus - just don't do it!). From CDG, there is a lot of walking. We had arrival service from Blacklane, which made finding the hotel much easier and faster - great service. We like the Novotel enough that it's our go-to at CDG - especially the restaurant, which lets you know you're in France right away!

The suite was huuuge. Perfect for 2 kids 2 dogs, and mom and dad. Gorgeous breakfast restaurant with nice food. You could even fry your own eggs. Only stayed one night for travel at CDG the next day. It was across the street from our terminal.

I re-read my review from late 2015 and nothing much has changed, though I believe there has been a renovation, and the place is bright, colourful and modern. Easy to access from CDG airport via the free train shuttle, and with friendly and helpful reception staff. The room was very pleasant and comfortable. I noted last time that with 4-star I would expect glasses (not plastic) and china cups/mugs (not cardboard). I would also expect a small kit of cotton buds etc. The hotel responded last time with their reasons for plastic cups and cardboard cups. Fair enough, but it still seems tacky and cheap. As before, the provisions in the room were basic, however the comfort level was very good. Given the publicity reads "admire the dance of the airplanes from your fully renovated room" and our room was supposedly Superior, we were disappointed that we had no view at all of the planes and the runways. We found the room hot and felt that we had no control over the air conditioning, despite there being controls on the wall. We did ask Reception about this and were told they would get a technician to look at it. No one got back to us. Tea making supplies were very scarce - only herbal teas and only enough milk to make 1-2 cups of tea. We had to ask twice, but eventually plain tea bags and more milk was delivered to our room. Despite some of the perceived shortfalls, this hotel is still in an excellent position for an overnight stay when flying out of Paris CDG. We dined at the hotel's restaurant and enjoyed our meal with excellent service from the restaurant staff.
