Don’t look further and go to Chez Alice for a great value for money stay and food. Lovely clean huts and great ambiance. The perfect place to prepare for Isalo and rest after the long walking days. ;)
We enjoyed our stay in the cute but rustic bungalow. Hotel is a short hike off the RN7 but friendly neighbors make the walk a pleasant one. Hot water is so hot and beds are comfy. Food at the restaurant was delicious and we were thrilled to have options other than standard French fare found at most tourist places. Malagasy plates for a reasonable price and homemade pasta and ravioli fight for center place above burgers and thick cut skin on fries. Delish!
While travelling in Madagascar, this has been - with no doubt - the best accomodation quality/price. 500m from the city center, you will find a peaceful space with incredible views over the Isalo National Park. The bungalows are in excellent state, the mattress are very confortable and they have been carefully decorated to make you feel that you would like to stay forever.
We stayed two night in Chez Alice. The Bungalows are cozy and when you sit infront them with a cold beer after a long hiking day and look to the Sunset in the Isalo-Mountains the world is wonderful. The whole area is very well kept and the staff is friendly on a special way. We had warm water in the bungalow and the Wi-Fi in the restaurant was good. Also the Food was ok, Not the best, but you can choose good alternatives to Zebu. One of our best choose to stay here.
This place is a bit of the main road which makes it to a quiet place. Bungalows are basic equipped but offer all you need. Restaurant serves good food. Stable WiFi as long as not too many guests are connected. The Highlight is the view on the Mountains of Isalo N.P. Especially at sunset.
