Having a quick look around the village we found Chez Berny to be the best choice in the village. Rooms are large and have nice details like the zebu horn towel holders. Best rooms are in the back on the second floor of a stone building - pretty quiet and with some space to sit outside. Pretty good value as...

What a surprise when you enter through an old tin gate to find such an imposing hotel. From our upstairs terrace, with table and chairs, we look out over a large eucalyptus tree and smell our home in Australia. The room is clean and comfortable and the stone building a creative and quaint use of this abundant building material. The...

I only had some meals there, but I did appreciate the atmosphere, which has hardly changed since the end of the colonization. The food is tasty and well served, the staff is smily and the owner is a very special man. Worth the stop!

We didn't stay at Chez Berny, but ate there a few times. The owner, Berny is a very friendly chap, even though we didn't speak french and he didn't speak english, we communicated well in broken Malagasy. Berny "Castle" is located in the heart of the village, it is built of hard stone and is made to last. Comfortable and very original.
