It is good location, rooms in renovated part are very nice but lots of improvments necessary, especialy because the owners are forogners, so they try to be the best as it is if we speak about rooms, but service is not folowing that, for breakfast you can order just egs and butter no possibility for tonato salad or any type... The room is very pretty as are the inner grounds (pool and small garden). The food was good . Note that they are shutting off the electricity (generator) between midnight and 06:00, so have a torch handy. Part of the charm of this place is the incongruity between the modern standard they have tried to achieve in the rooms and... More

We stayed here for 2 nights when visiting the National Park. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The power went off early on both of the mornings we were there. Free Wifi is available in the restaurant area (dependent upon power!). We had our own driver and vehicle, but the central location would certainly make it suitable for those travelling... More

Three hundred meters from the entrance of the National Park, this modern hotel offers the best value for money you can find in the city of Ranohira. The rooms are spatious and clean. No TV and Wifi only in the restaurant, called "Le Zebu Grillé", where you can have good meals at ususal cheap local prices. A good plce to... More

We liked this place a lot because its location is perfect when travelling by taxi-brousse. All the fancy resorts are situated quite a few kilometers outside of Ranohira so you need your own vehicle to get there (no taxis in Ranohira). L'Orchidée is right in the middle of Ranohira, on the main road, and practically next to the National Park's... More

Didn't eat in the restaurant that seems to be the cause of so much angst, so can't comment on that, but the room was pretty OK. Electricity was only intermittent, making the room really hot during the night without a fan. Wifi (electricity-dependent) available in reception.

This is from far the real worst hotel we experienced during our trip! The room we stayed in was old-fashioned, not really clean and there were plenty of mosquitos in it. But worst of the worst is their disqusting restaurant "Le zébu grillé"! When we ordered the zébu steak, it was hard like a shoe! But the chicken leg was... More

We stayed here on two different occations. The rooms were quite nice, and clean enough, but the power was coming and going quite frequently. This was pretty inconvenient as the rooms were hot and the fans didn't work in the night. There is a restaurant there, which is good although it could be more exciting. All in all a nice... More

We stayed here for two nights in one of the rooms in the new block which was relatively modern and a nice size with a couple of easy chairs and a table. There was however, no wardrobe or storage. The good sized modern shower room had no curtain or blind over the plain glass window, so we had to wedge... More

This hotel is well-located for visiting Isalo National Park. The rooms are in an apartment -style complex which is pretty plain. Comfortable enough by Malagasy standards, with en-suite facilities, good sized beds and (eventually) hot showers. The food was reasonable. There is a nice Boulangerie across the road, but sadly it didn't open on the second day we were there... More
