I booked this hotel as a birthday treat for my husband through travelzoo. The offer included afternoon tea, a suite and breakfast. Firstly, the drive up the long driveway is very impressive and when you pull up to the hotel looks good too, then you go inside and it all goes downhill. The sofas and glass coffee tables in the...

Stayed for the weekend, beginning of November. Lots of cold driving rain offset by a warm welcome and toasty open log fires.Have stayed here before in July, and we were attracted to return by stunning scenery and good walks along Offa's Dyke which bisects Mellington Hall's grounds. MUCH prefered this stay, we were well looked after by the efficient and welcoming...

We stayed at Mellington Hall for two nights. A nice weekend away from the city. It is easy to imagine Mellington Hall as a family home in a "Downton Abbey" style; grand yet cozy. The Hotel is family-owned and run. Everyone works very hard, yet makes their guests feel as if nothing is too much trouble. The owner is also...

Superb meal. Had three courses. Flat mushroom. Roast beef. Pears in champagne. Food was cooked to perfection, great to eat the high quality ingredients that Mellington use. Service was fast, including bar. Friendly staff who check that your meal is to your liking and nothing is too much trouble for them ! Definitely would recommend Mellington Hall Hotel & Restaurant....

This is a stunning hotel based around a once delapidated 'Hall'. The exterior and interior are superb. We went in mid October and there were roaring log fires in all main communial rooms. Staff are very friendly, the beer (and lager) are first rate and the food is first class.

We really enjoyed our stay here and there is a lot to recommend We both thought the breakfast was the best we have ever had. We stayed in the Maidstone suite which is very spacious and comfortable. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept on in any hotel. The hotel looks fabulous, especially at night. This is...

Spent two nights here as part of an amazon local deal. Really good, the staff were all friendly and helpful, breakfasts were really good and the evening meals were out of this world. This hotel did the best steak that I have ever tasted. The only downside is that the bed seemed slightly on the small side for a double,...

Stayed just the one night, given a pretty big discount on a suit, down to £190 from an eye watering £260. Really fabulous suit, massive Jacuzzi, large enough for four let alone two. Lovely grounds, but spoiled a bit by a very large caravan park nearby. I can't give it 100%, fairly close though. The breakfast was very nice, although...

We initially booked one of the two night special offers for a stay in August. A lovely long driveway led to the interesting building, and then inside to see how impressively the building has retained many of its original panelling and other period features - wonderful to see. We were cheerfully welcomed and shown to our room to find we...
