Mellington is the perfect weekend retreat, I visited for work purposes but will definitely be making a return visit for pleasure, the staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble for any of them, its the ideal hideaway with not a sound to disturb the peace and tranquillity other than birdsong, The food is out of this world, the rooms...

Caravan site- Met by the wheeled duo who manage the site and are very pleasant. They either scote around in their small truck all day or on the electric bikes. Site is lovely, quiet, with a nice bar within the Hall, that opens late with normal prices. Site is located near a number of localish places such as Montgommery, a...

The 1000 meter drive up to the hall and we were greated by the magnificent building, very impressive. Alas, we were met by staff lacking leadership and the room lacking basics such as towels & soaps. The facilities are good and so was the dining but we couldn't help feeling that Faulty Towers was alive & kicking, don't let that...

I've been here twice now, once with my partner and once with his family for a birthday. Each time I have found the food and staff pleasant, so I feel somewhat harsh with my rating. However, I think the appearance of the hotel is deceiving. Both from the outside and inside it is beautifully decorated and looks very grand, and...

We booked a table in the restaurant on a Thursday evening recently for my husband's birthday. When we arrived the young woman was on the phone and said that she would not be a minute. We wandered into the bar, but there were no staff there, so we sat down and waited for several minutes until the young woman appeared. When...

I had been recommended to the Sunday Lunch and can testify that it is superb value, Start with a pre-dinner drink by the blazing log fire, dine on fine food and wine in traditional surroundings and relax. A wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I feel it is only fair to preface my review by saying that I fully appreciate different people have different expectations of the service they feel they deserve to receive, likewise, reviews are individual, and as such should be taken as a guide only when choosing somewhere new to stay, I take no pleasure in placing poor reviews, and would...

We stayed just one night and although we slept well and enjoyed the food, it was clear that the building had seen better days. Our room had clearly not been updated for some years, and we felt the price was high for what it offered, especially as the view was over the static caravan park at the rear of the...

Wonderful atmosphere at this fantastic setting. Beautifully decorated for Christmas with a massive tree in the hallway. Great food and plenty of it. Friendly and welcoming staff. We were given plenty of time to relax after the meal in the warm and comfortable lounges.
