Effie is a great lady. She looks after you like you're family. Price is pretty decent, and the rooms, toilets are clean and tidy. Location of the hotel is in the heart of the town. Lovely experience! Thanks Effie!

Stayed with Effie & Lambros once again on our way to Philip Island from the Gold Coast for the super bikes, couldn't wait to get there to be spoilt AGAIN & to have a marvelous feed from Effies kitchen - brilliant as usual & the rooms & bathroom impeccable - just a shame we have to wait 12 months to... We'd seen this pub in the Camps book and thought we'd stop for lunch. It looked closed until the owner opens the door and invited us in. She served us drinks, offered us home cooked food and went off to collect the salad from her beautiful garden to go with our flathead fish and chips. All delicious. Thanks Effie.

By accident we ended up in Rosedale Victoria and noticed this old Pub at the end of the road. A wonderful warm couple ,originally from Greece, welcomed us. Cooked us a great meal with greek flavours. We had some Ouzo danced to the greek music out of the juke box and lots of talk and smiles. Such a warm warm... More

OK if you are looking for modern motel style accom and privacy this place is not for you. Sure it is old but everything works and we found it very clean and comfortable, as long as you don't mind the old fashioned share bathroom arrangements. Lambross and Effie are delightful, very friendly hosts who went out of their way to... More

This is by far the most delightful, old fashioned, family friendly, country style hotel I have ever come across. The building dates from 20's, the bathrooms last had an update in the 60's. However the bit that matters most, their prices, are also firmly stuck in the 70's. Fresh paint, new carpet and new beds, makes for a comfortable homley stay.... More

We stumbled upon the Rosedale Hotel by accident and it ended up being one of the best places we stayed at during our trip to Australia! Effie and Lambros were true hosts and we ate the most delicious Greek meal ever! Would highly recommend this hotel.

I've discovered Aussie pub hotels as a great bargain especially as I travel alone. It's a mixed bag--there are the "flea bags" and some genuinely nice places. I put the Rosedale Hotel at the top of my list! What a joy it was to accidentally discover this place on a recent cycling tour through Gippsland in Victoria. The historic Rosedale... More
