If you wish to escape from the madding crowd then this quiet pub in a quiet village is the place for you. Our three night break with dog was excellent in every respect in a lovely room with very comfortable bed and although not a shower lover generally this one could not be faulted as even I could operate it... Visited the George Inn recently. Very good hospitality, Excellent beer and Sunday roast was very good. And they take dogs which isn't always the case. We booked in advanced but told by landlord evenings are the busiest. A recommended base for good walking.

We have just had a three night break at The George and would recommend it to anyone as a fantastic place to stay when visiting the Dales. The accomodation is first class, lots of little extras in the room which was spotless on arrival and every day when we returned from sightseeing. Charles is a perfect gentleman who goes out... More

Absolutely fantastic place! Charles and Becci were, as always, impeccable hosts and the food was to die for. Great location for venturing out and exploring the quite spectacular countryside. Can't recommend it enough and we'll definitely be coming back for more.

Only two rooms (as far as i know) in an annex on the In itself. Rooms are comfortable, tasteful and impossibly clean. We ate in the pub and the food was excellent as was breakfast the nest morning. The pub had a lovely atmosphere with really friendly local people and therefore it didnt have that empty touristy feeling you sometimes... More

An excellent stopover in a small village perfect for walking in the North Pennines. Two smart well-appointed little rooms next to the main building. Excellent food from a well thought-out menu and very reasonable prices. Breakfast the following morning was also perfect. Upon our arrival the host delivered a list of do's and don'ts & we wondered whether we were... More

Excellent Base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, The George Inn has two rooms which are separate to the main building, these have been furbished to a very high standard with everything considered . Charles the landlord is welcoming and very organised. The food is very good with generous portions, the full English breakfast is one of the best I have... More

Beautiful setting. Cosy, friendly pub with rooms set in annexe next to the pub. Comfortable bed, great shower. All the little finishing touches, decanter of sherry, chocolates, fruit, dressing gowns, slippers which make for a wonderful stay. Breakfast all cooked fresh and served to perfection.

The room was very clean with attention to detail to meet all of your needs with toiletries, clean towels, bathrobes, slippers, ample selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate etc., also complimentary grapes, chocolates and even a glass of sherry. The room had your own door which led to outside the Inn where there was space to park your car. The... More

The last two nights of our touring holiday were spent in the Yorkshire Dales. We stayed at The George Inn and what a little gem it is. A little off the beaten track, but all the nicer for that. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The inn is full of character and the rooms, which are separate from the the... More
