Back in 2019, while we stayed in Villa Zacharo, our host told us that if when, having died, we wanted to come back to earth, we'd better try to do so as a god. But if that wasn't possible, we should try to come back as a guest, because Greek people treat their guests as gods. And gues what : we came back -- not after our death -- and YES, WE WERE TREATED AS GODS! In Villa Zacharo HOSPITALITY is practised at the highest level Thank you!
OK. This place is a little dated, but it's homey and comfortable. We were able to check-in eight hours early too. The owners were very accommodating. Breakfast was simple but filling. The couple that owns the place almost become your "greek grandparents" for a night. It's very close to the port yet we were even offered a ride. It's so close we just walked back though.
Stayed here 10 days with the family mid-August. These family run apartments are clean and tidy and the service is 1st class. The family are so helpful and kind, they couldn't do enough for us. My children loved it as well. Breakfast is included, rooms have TV and WiFi, and even drinking water is free which helped no end. I would highly recommended you to stay here. Thank you Jacob and family at Zacharo for a wonderful stay. Paul and family xx
My husband and I stayed here in August, due to friends visiting Greece, we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel, it's small but the host and his wife were super friendly, we was picked up from the port, although it's not needed as the hotel is very close to the port and easy to find as it's right next door to the AB supermarket, the rooms are adequate for the price, breakfast was simple but very tasty, there is free tea and coffee in the reception area 24hrs of the day/night for all guests, we would recommend the Villa Zacharo to anyone, and shall stay here again.
Very nice owner , rooms good with good air conditioning and fridge . outside area that is shaded good to read or have a late drink at night . close to port and easy to get to monastery and cave . free tea and coffee downstairs. good buffet breakfast
Small Villa kind hotel. The owner was expecting us at the harbor, where we arrived late from Piraeus. Room was small, but OK. Bus had a stop just in front of the hotel. Breakfast very good. Owners trated us as family members. He told us-better than a tourist guide-all about the island's history and told us what and when we can visit - since it was winter and most places were closed or open for a few hours every day. Last day we rented a car-car rental company was also just opposite the hotel.
Jacob picked us up from the ferry from Athens in the middle of the night. He also took us to the ferry when it was time to leave. Jacob and his wife took good care of us. Our room did not feel like a hotel, but a comfortable apartment. The plants around the villa made us feel at home. We had a view of the Cave of the Apocalypse and also the Monastery of St. John the Theologian. At the same time, we were not far from the port, from the water front. Nice restaurants are nearby, and a supermarket.
Jacob met us at the port and drove us the 100 metres to the villa, check in was simple and we were shown to our room which was of ample size, we were on the 1st floor facing the road with a small balcony suitable for a nightcap which we took advantage off on both nights of our stay, there is traffic but by nightfall it is minimal, we both wake early and only heard any noise after opening the shutters and doors. The bathroom had been newly renovated to a high modern standard with a thermostatic mixer shower that was pretty powerful, there are glass shelves which I would personaly not have fitted due to the compact dimensions of the room, other than that it was better than many I've showered in in the islands. Breakfast is taken downstairs toward the front of the property in the shade, its an above average B n B breakfast in my opinion with plenty to choose from and good filter coffee. The staircase was a little challenging for me as my knees are not good but it is part of the architecture of the splendid building. Jacob offered us an alternative room on the ground floor but as I am just slow on the stairs it wasnt a problem for 2 nights. Both Jacob and his wife were excellent hosts who couldnt do enough for us during our brief 2 night stay, we would certainly consider going back when we return to Patmos.…
I was really fortunate to stay at the villa Zacharo on Patmos. It was clean with a good breakfast. What made it exceptional was the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner, Jacob. He is someone who genuinely wants every visitor to have the best possible visit to the island and he was happy to give good advice about what to see, where to eat etc. I really enjoyed my stay there and would certainly go back there if I return to Patmos. John
This is a very pleasant set of rooms with amenable, helpful owners but it is right on the main road through town. There were thousands of motor scooters racing up and foe all day and most of the night so that it was impossible to stay in the room and we had to shut all the windows at night. There are places in the town where you can find peace, but not in this area. It is really intolerable. Shame, because the place is nice, except for the usual 25cm x 25 cm shower tray.
