There are apparently one “hotel” and one “villa” on the same street two plots apart. We stayed in the villa. The host was polite, the check in was efficient. Pros: - it’s cheap - it was very clean - the surrounding is quiet - comfortable mattress Cons: - the room is very small with oversized king bed - no wardrobe and space for even a small luggage - the shower tap is unnecessary fancy but broken - the worst is that the sound insulation between the rooms is very poor, you can hear when the water tap is on, the shower is used, the laughter of the people next door. It is good for one night crash in only. I hope they’ll improve.
The first of our stops in Bulgaria, pulling up to Koko Hills , you wonder what the hell have you done. Then you are welcomed into this fabulous space , ours was on 2 levels and had everything we needed, I ve stayed in so,e terrible places which cost 5 fold. We used The jacuzzi, and the sauna , had breakfast the next morning, simple but what more do you need. The staff struggle with English but that’s our problem not there’s, we managed and would visit again no hesitation
First of all, I recommend against staying at Koko Hills. My boyfriend and I stayed there for two nights. They didn't clean our room, but I think the worst experience was in their restaurant. My (rather small) dish came 20 minutes before my boyfriend's, and neither of us got what we ordered. Even though I ate as slowly as I could I was done when they served the potatoes after I finished eating, and when it came there was a long hair in it.
The hotel is relatively new, located on the outskirts of Sapareva Banya, few minutes drive or walk from the center. They have couple of Jacuzzi, a Sauna, few gym machines and toys for kids. Also there is a nice restaurant and a bbq for the guests' use. The room itself was very spacious with double bed, sofa, small kitchen and a table. the shower was also quite big. When you enter the room it looks impressing but our room had few details: The shower drain was completely blocked, all the water escaped from underneath the shower frame (which wasn't sealed) and flooded the bathroom. The sheets were just placed over the bed, not tucked in (as the were too small to be tucked in), There was no A/C nor ceiling (not even just a fan), probably most year it doesn't matter but for us at the end of June it was too hot to sleep without it, and the windows are without any mosquito nets, which means that if you open the windows to cool the room, you are most likely going to "enjoy" flying visitors during the night. The biggest issue was the staff, though it says they speak English most of them didn't speak any English. When we arrived to the hotel we parked the car next to it and a woman from the hotel came and start to talk to us in Bulgarian though we tried to explain her we don't speak English she just kept talking, we tried to ask her where can we park the car but she couldn't explain us. The same lady checked us in but again she spoke only Bulgarian luckily other guests that arrived to the hotel we able to translate us. We realized that we won't be able to get information from the hotel staff about a trip in the area we planned for the following day. Our room (Studio 1) was located above the kitchen, therefor we got the cooking smell into the room when the windows were open. THE GOOD: Good value for money! (if you get a good deal, we saw a great deal in 1 website, but another website had a much higher price) The hotel is relatively new and the rooms are spacious. Bed was comfortable, and a big sofa to sit and relax on. Breakfast was good. Spa with an indoor double Jacuzzi, sauna and bigger outdoor Jacuzzi. THE BAD: Service (mostly because they don't speak english) No A/C or fan and no mosquito nets on the windows. Room issues…
Highly recommended! Great value for money. The location is great with stunning view. Modern furniture and spacious bathroom, everything was just perfect and the people there are really helpful, loved the garden and the flowers. The wifi was a bit slow but can't complain till it's free.
